I love this little place tucked in between the space around us that seems so loud and fast paced. Watching a family gather together to support one another. A kid fully enjoying his surroundings and a great team sport. A farm pup wandering around the fields. Hearing that there was a four hour drive for the specific goat cheese that tasted amazing. Friends who stay connected and combine their masterpieces into one. The Hoecake has a rich history in Southern cuisine. Originally, hoecake was made by cooking cornmeal on a flat hoe over an open flame. Over time, the recipe has evolved and today’s hoecake is served sweet & savory.

The combination of the sweet hoecake base with the savory smoked sea bass rillette and caviar is a match made in heaven. 🤌🏽

We recently had @TonyontheTown join us for the full 1909 experience, and he later shared it in a feature for @TheValleyNews taking a look at where 1909 began, how we’ve evolved, and the way we continue to bring a piece of Old Town Temecula’s history into the present.

The article also dives into the food behind the experience, highlighting Culinary Director Chef Carlo Guardado and his approach to seasonality, responsible sourcing, and cooking with fire to bring out the character of every ingredient.

Every animal raised at Golden Creek is known, cared for, and loved.

From the day they’re born, our son is there to welcome them — usually with a hug. That closeness is part of how we raise our animals and why we choose to do this on such a small scale.

We harvest only a handful of animals each year, allowing us to remain deeply involved in how they’re raised, what they eat, the land they graze, and the care they receive throughout their lives.

This beautiful Wagyu steer is part of our next harvest and will soon be available for reservation through our website.

Saturday at The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano with @pappa_frites was pretty magic with lots of talented Chefs on hand. It was for an epic cause too.

Cooking near the coast à la Alta California — peppers, fire, history and some Californio feels.
