a year ago, I made a short film in Paris called “ORI,” with a small a two person crew, it’s a project I’ll forever be proud of 🫶🏽

my time abroad was amazing, but behind closed doors I was battling with one of the most difficult & confusing periods of my physical & mental health, that led me onto a journey of searching for new ways to integrate wellness into my life ☁️

yesterday, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of @parentingforliberation & I feel so honored to announce that ORI will be screening as apart of their exhibition, “Homeplace” from now until November 27th at off-TOP Design in LA. 🥳 There are so many dope artists featured in the show and I feel so grateful to be in the same space as them!!

when I look back at ORI, I think about the highs and the lows of that time. I remember how much power there is in calling onto our higher selves in times of need. In a world where it can feel so easy to absorb it all, I am reminded that I have something both magical & eternal, that will always be there to ground me: my divinity within, aka my ori. 🌌

. . .
Forever will give a big shoutout to Megan & Chris for making this lil project possible. & Forever grateful to @trinabruin for supporting me in all realms of my becoming. How did I get so lucky!!

P4L has so much dope programming for the community lined up for the month, if you’re in the city you should drop by! You can also watch ORI by checking out the link in my bio 🔗 :)

P.S. Shoutout to the cuzzo @ashleyysherelle for her support & flick taking skills 😌 by @parentingforliberation

Over the last few months, we’ve been reflecting on what 10 years of Parenting for Liberation means - for us, for our community, for our current political moment.

Like most P4L innovations, it always starts with a seed, a little handwritten note, an idea in the middle of a random moment, a spark of creativity, a conversation…

HOMEPLACE is our love letter to what ten years of practicing liberation at home, with our families and community has meant. The exhibition highlights the beauty and complexities of Black family life and invites you to travel to a place where Black futures are actualized. ✨

Come witness what we’ve created through collaboration and art! Sunday, Oct. 4th @ 2pm @offtopdesign. We can’t wait to share!
