happy friday everyone! i am omw to durango CO rn but in the meantime here is a little taste of what i have been doing in the last 6 weeks (it’s been 6 weeks somehow?!) of the fall semester- much piano practicing of various jazz standards including SSotS ! jazz piano is like this whole new language that i am only just beginning to comprehend but it’s exciting and i am v grateful for all the awesome profs &students at UNO who are so passionate abt music, it’s certainly contagious 💫 #pianopractice #slowbutsteady #qualityoverquantity #stridepiano taken in University of New Orleans by @paris_achenbach

Some moments from my baby shower weekend in DC!!! It was such a special few days for me, and I can’t believe how loved the three of us are—- me, Jack, and this lil baby boyy in the womb 🥹🥲🙏 I cannot thank my amazing family enough for throwing down the sweetest brunch with homemade food and hand-crafted decorations, and my neighbors and childhood friends for showing up (some with their own tiny children / baby in womb!!) from all over the place—- it made me so happy, and feel sooo good going into this new dimension of life!! There were so many highlights, but having friends and family there who have known me throughout my whole life is a treasure I cannot translate. I feel completely inundated and ensconced with support and generosity and it’s an ever-welcome reminder that amidst all the horrific things going on in the world, there is truly so much more love and kindness that outweighs it. And every day I feel this baby kick and roll around like a gymnast I get moreee and more excited... 7 months down, due date on Sept 28… we’re getting close to the home stretch here!!! ❤️❤️ by @paris_achenbach

took my 24-week bump to Arkansas 🥹🥰🙏 I had the most amazing time with @jdrums42 on this trip and could not be more grateful for the sweetest greatest travel companion whilst pregnant and exploring new places!!! We had so much fun swimming and hiking and stargazing and driving all around the Buffalo national river and Ozark national forest area. hope to make it back someday when the little one can experience it outside the womb ☺️❤️ taken in Steel Creek Campground by @paris_achenbach

here are a couple clips from the end of my semester this spring, practicing in the recital hall for my final performances of the year. I honestly can’t believe I was able to complete this 5th semester of music school whilst in the first trimester of pregnancy AND switching to full-time music lesson teaching from service industry work… what a wilddd and beautiful and exhausting and blessed and challenging time for me!!!! I truly could not have done any of it without the loving support of @jdrums42, my family, and my amazing professors at UNO who have always motivated me to keep going and learning. I can’t believe how lucky I am sometimes. I work really hard but I also am so freaking luckyyy to receive these gifts in life!!! I had a lot of nausea/ exhaustion for many many weeks but I can’t believe I got to carry a little growing baby to music school all spring (I was 19 weeks at the time of this video :)) 🥰🙏🤰 #pianostudent #music #beethoven #debussy #pregnancy 🎶❤️ by @paris_achenbach

I meant to post this literally a year ago (🙈) but last May I had the privilege of being interviewed for a story on WWNO for Mental Health Month!! THANK YOUUU everyone for the sweet words and wishes over the weekend!!!!! We have been beyond excited to share the happy 🤰news!!!!!! and even though it positively downpoured ALL DAY on my bday until 7pm (when I made @jdrums42 take this picture on the way to dinner walking through the puddles) I had the best best day thanks to all the loving amazing people in my life, and for having so much to celebrate and look forward to 🥹🥰🙏 35 years old - and 20 weeks too!!!!! Happiest of birthdays to my beautiful @paris_achenbach. She does so much! Trains and runs races, plays piano beautifully, teaches young students, countless assignments for her grad school program, writes songs that get stuck in my head for two weeks at a time.. She never stops pushing herself to be the best version of herself. And — she’s been doing all of this lately (except the marathon training) while carrying our little human who will be here on Earth come September! She’s an inspiration to me and does so much for me I can’t really express it. Congratulations on finishing your semester and happiest of birthdays, Paris! I love you! ❤️ ❤️ by @paris_achenbach
