My daughter loves parks, so we’re on a mission to visit 50 parks in #SantaClarita this year and share our reviews with you.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Santa Clarita parents — SAVE this one for the next HOT or RAINY day.

And I asked if we could get you guys a deal. Scooter’s Jungle is going to give our followers 30% OFF their first Open Play visit! 🎉

More on that below 👇

📍 Scooter’s Jungle Valencia
28230 Constellation Rd
Valencia, CA 91355

We finally checked this place out and walking into the Ultimate Arena was EPIC!

There are giant inflatable slides, a zip line, jousting, interactive games, air hockey, ping pong…and a LOT of room for kids to burn off some serious energy.

And those slides are BIG. 😳 One was tall enough that I even got a little nervous climbing up it.

👶 TODDLER NOTE:

This Ultimate Arena is definitely geared more toward bigger kids (they do have a different Jr. Arena which they told us is more geared toward younger kids). Our toddler still had a blast, but she needed our help climbing and getting around some of the bigger features. She was also so happy watching the older kids fly down the zip line!

🎂 BIRTHDAY PARTIES:
We haven’t personally attended a birthday party here yet, but we’ve heard from other local parents that this is a great spot for parties.

The owners shared with me that parties are 100% private. Your group gets its own arena rather than sharing the play space with another party. Scooter’s Jungle also handles the party details for you so parents can actually enjoy the celebration.

🔥 PARK PLAY SCV: Get 30% OFF your first Open Play visit at Scooter’s Jungle Valencia, today through Sept. 18th.

To redeem:

✅ Follow @ParkPlaySCV on Instagram
✅ Show them that you follow Park Play SCV when you check in.
✅ They will provide you with a 30% Discount.

Offer valid for your family’s first Open Play visit through September 18th at the Valencia location. Open Play dates and times vary, so check Scooter’s Jungle’s current Open Play calendar before heading over.

The offer has no cash value and cannot be combined with any other offers.

📌 SEND this to another Santa Clarita parent who would love to get 30% off!

Our family received a complimentary visit from Scooter’s Jungle. This post was not paid for, and all taken in Scooter's Jungle by @parkplayscv

Coffee + playground nearby = such a good weekday parent outing ☕️🛝

Grace Coffee is tucked away off Copper Hill on a church campus, but it’s open to the public during the week. We loved visiting this spot!

📍 Grace Coffee (@GraceCoffeeSCV)
22833 Copper Hill Dr
Santa Clarita, CA 91350

Good coffee, a peaceful patio, space for kids to move, and a playground nearby.

🛜 They offer free WIFI at the coffee shop and on the patio and playground.

☕️ Coffee notes: They brew coffee from some excellent roasters like MadCap and Verve. If you love coffee, you will LOVE this shop.

🥤 Frozen drinks: They offer frozen lattes available on demand from their slushy machine and they rotate through a variety of other delicious frozen drinks. Perfect for summer!

👀 Parent notes: The playground is better for slightly older kids, and you’ll want to keep a close eye on littles near the water features.

Weekdays are probably the best time to go since they are closed on and Sundays get busy since it is on a church campus.

Out of all the parks we have visited so far, this is the one where we saw parents relaxing the most (probably since it was enclosed).

We have come to Begonias Lane Park numerous times as a family, had a picnic in the park with cousins and grandparents, and my wife has taken our daughter here a few times.

✅ Fully enclosed playground
🌳 Shaded most of the day
👨‍👧 Parent-child swings
🧒 Separate toddler and big-kid areas
🚶 Nice stroller loop

Also, there is a shaded picnic table just on the other side of the swings that works great if you are coming as a family for a picnic.

Funny story... Last time my wife visited this park with our daughter she was chatting with another mom who was there, and the mom mentioned that m wife should checkout a new instagram account of a family who was reviewing all the parks in Santa Clarita.

To which my wifey said something like, "Is it called ParkPlaySCV? Because if it is that's my husband! Lol".

I finally hit my peak, my park reviews are famous! 😂

Okay, maybe not.

But in all seriousness, I'm having fun making these park reviews, so can you help us out by sharing them to help more families see them?

And if you happen to recognize us at a park, feel free to say "hi!"

Our DETAILED review of Begonias Lane Park will be posted tomorrow.

➡️ If you don't follow us yet, be sure to follow. My daughter LOVES parks, so we are on a mission to visit 50 parks in or near Santa Clarita this year.

West Creek Park might be one of the BEST parks in Santa Clarita for kids to make park friends. 🛝

This playground is almost always busy when we visit, but honestly… that's part of what we like about it!

On our last visit, our daughter made a new friend, a boy shared one of his Hot Wheels with her (Hot Wheels track built into this playground), and there were kids of all ages running around and playing together.

And there's SO MUCH to do:

☀️ Playground shaded ALL DAY
🛝 Younger + big kid play areas
💨 Zip-line swings
🎢 Roller slide
🎠 Merry-go-round
🧗 Lots of climbing
♿ Inclusive play features
🏀 Multiple basketball areas
🌳 Huge open field
🚶 Long walking paths
🧺 Plenty of picnic space
🚻 Bathrooms
🚗 Easy parking*

*The parking lot can fill up when the park is especially busy or if there's a party happening in the Gazebo.

One of my favorite things about West Creek is the shade. We visited on a 95° day and were still comfortably playing until around noon because the playground is completely covered.

This is NOT the park I'd choose if you're looking for a quiet, peaceful playground trip. 😂

But if your kids love having LOTS to do, meeting other kids, and staying at the park for a couple hours, West Creek is hard to beat.

☕️ BONUS LOCAL TIP: Grab coffee from @havanasavannahcafe on Copper Hill on your way! They are right around the corner.

📍 West Creek Park
24247 Village Circle Dr, Valencia

⭐ We gave this one a **9/10: Destination Park.**

I’m not a big fan of playgrounds with sand.

Sand is messy, gets all over the car, somehow ends up in shoes for the next 3 weeks, and just isn’t as easy for toddlers to run around in.

So this review might be totally biased… 😅

But as the dad of a toddler, Santa Clarita Park is probably not one we’ll be rushing back to for playground time.

This park has a lot of history. A lot of us grew up calling it Robot Park because of the giant robot play structure that used to be the main attraction.

I remember climbing up into the robot head and riding down those metal slides as a kid. This park felt EPIC back then.

But the robot has been closed for years, and the current playground just did not feel like one of the better options in Santa Clarita.

(It is pretty awesome that we live in a city with so many great parks that a great park like this one is lower on the list).

A few things to know:

⚠️ There are some big drop-offs from the walkway into the sand
⚠️ The smaller playground says ages 2–5, but didn’t feel very 2-year-old friendly
⚠️ Parking can get tight if preschool, day camp, or the public pool is busy
⚠️ And yes… sand everywhere 😅

There are still good things here:

🌳 Lots of shade
🏰 Fun castle theme
🛝 Swings
🧺 Picnic tables
🏀 Basketball courts
🏊 Public pool nearby

So for older kids, a picnic, basketball, shade, or a pool day? Maybe.

But for toddler playground time?

I’d probably choose one of the many newer playgrounds we have around Santa Clarita instead.

Coffee + playground nearby = such a good weekday parent outing ☕️🛝

While taking kids to most coffee shops is stressful, this one is actually fun and peaceful.

Grace Coffee is tucked away off Copper Hill on a church campus, but it’s open to the public — and we loved visiting this spot with our daughter.

📍 Grace Coffee
22833 Copper Hill Dr
Santa Clarita, CA 91350

⏰ Hours (as of posting):
Mon: 8:00am–2:30pm
Tue: 10:00am–2:30pm
Wed: 8:00am–2:30pm + 5:00pm–7:00pm
Thu: 8:00am–2:30pm
Fri: 8:00am–2:30pm
Sat: Closed
Sun: 8:00am–12:30pm

There’s good coffee, a peaceful patio, grass nearby, space for kids to move, and a mostly enclosed playground.

🛜 They also offer free Wi-Fi at the coffee shop, on the patio, and near the playground.

☕️ Coffee notes: They brew coffee from excellent roasters like Madcap, Verve, and Black Oak. If you love coffee, this is absolutely worth checking out.

🥤 Frozen drinks: They offer frozen lattes from their slushy machine and rotate through other frozen drinks too — perfect for summer.

The playground is better for slightly older kids, but our daughter still loved the slide, the little table, and running around.

👀 Parent notes: You’ll want to keep a close eye on littles near the water features, and weekdays are probably the best time to go since Saturdays are closed and Sundays can get busy with church.

Santa Clarita… save this 4th of July guide!

I’m a Dad in Santa Clarita and I pulled together this family-friendly guide with parade tips, parking ideas, bathroom notes, fireworks options, and a few honest local parent tips for the 4th of July in SCV.

Whether you’re doing the morning parade, fireworks at night, or trying to make a full day of it, hopefully this helps make the day a little easier.

Send this to another Santa Clarita parent who needs it!
And if I missed something (I definitely miss a lot), drop it in the comments so other families can see it too. 👇

#SantaClarita #SantaClaritaParents #SCV #SCVParents #fourthofjuly

Here’s the quick July 4th overview for Santa Clarita families:

🥞 Pancake breakfast on Main Street
🇺🇸 4th of July Parade
🎆 Fireworks at Valencia Town Center
🎢 Six Flags Magic Mountain
🌳 Stevenson Ranch / Rioux Park

The rest of the guide breaks down what parents should know before going.

The Santa Clarita 4th of July Parade is one of those classic local traditions.

It starts at 9 AM in Old Town Newhall, but if you’re going with kids, the biggest thing to know is this:

Plan ahead and arrive earlier than you think.

Parade parent tip: chairs, water, snacks, sunscreen, hats, and patience.

If you want a great spot, send someone early to set up.

And please only claim the space your group actually needs — it gets busy.

Know the best place to park or other bathrooms that are open? Drop it in the comments below 👇

There are three main fireworks options around Santa Clarita:

🎆 Valencia Town Center
🎢 Six Flags Magic Mountain
🌳 Stevenson Ranch / Rioux Park

Each one has a slightly different feel, so pick the option that fits your family best.

The City of Santa Clarita fireworks at Valencia Town Center are probably the classic SCV fireworks experience.

Big crowds, big energy, and lots of families making a night out of it.

This is the one that feels like the whole city showed up.

Six Flags and Stevenson Ranch are two more fireworks options to know about.

Six Flags is great if you’re already making it a park day.

Stevenson Ranch is one we haven’t personally done for the 4th, but we love Rioux Park and have heard good things. taken in Santa Clarita, California by @parkplayscv

📍 David March Park
Via Joyce Dr, Saugus, CA

When we first heard David March Park was reopening after its remodel, we were excited...

Then we realized the playground itself wasn't actually being replaced.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed.

But after visiting this park around 10 times over the past month, my opinion has completely changed.

The playground is almost always busy with kids of all ages. And even though it isn't the newest playground in Santa Clarita, KIDS LOVE IT. Plus, there are so many other things to do in the park that whole families can hang out here for hours.

THE PLAYGROUND: There are three different play structures, huge tunnel slides, lots of climbing features (including a climbing wall), monkey bars, tunnels to crawl through, and three toddler-friendly slides that our daughter kept looping through over and over. There is also a unique standing swing that she likes to sit on 🤷‍♂️.

The remodel also added:
🏃 116 exercise stairs
💪 Outdoor fitness equipment
🏀 Lighted basketball courts
🌳 More shade
🧺 Covered picnic areas
🚗 Extra parking

One thing we really appreciated was how easy it would be to combine a workout with a park trip. One parent can take the kids to the playground while the other uses the stairs or workout equipment, then switch.

A few things to know before you go:

☀️ This is definitely a better mid-day through afternoon park. The shade reaches the playground after the morning. It's in full sun first thing in the morning.

🧒 We think this park is better suited for preschoolers, elementary-aged kids, and up. It is not the best playground in town for really young toddlers.

⭐ OUR RATINGS ⭐

🏆 Overall: 7/10
🧒 Toddler Friendly: 3/5
🎯 Play Value: 4/5
🛝 Big Kid Friendly: 5/5
🚗 Effort Level: Very Easy

Best for:
✔ Big kids who love climbing
✔ Afterschool park trips
✔ Parents who want to combine playtime with a workout
✔ Families in Saugus looking for an easy local go-to park

We originally thought the older playground would hold this park back.

Turns out... kids don't seem to care nearly as much as adults do. And after spending time here ourselves, we totally understand why this park has become so popular. taken in Santa Clarita, California by @parkplayscv

We honestly thought we'd visit David March Park once after the renovation...

Instead, we've already been there 10 times since it opened 😅

The playground itself was not remodeled, so it isn't the newest in Santa Clarita, but somehow our daughter can't get enough of it.

My daughter LOVES parks so I'm on a mission to visit and review 50+ parks around Santa Clarita over the next year. I'm having fun making these videos AND you can help them reach even more parents by liking, sharing, and saving them.

📋 And if you're curious to learn even more about David March Park, our full detailed review (including ratings, pros, cons, and who it's best for) will be posted tomorrow.

Is LEGOLAND worth it for toddlers?

As total LEGOLAND newbies... our answer is an easy YES.

Before going, we honestly weren’t sure if our daughter was old enough to enjoy it. We figured she’d go on a couple rides, get tired, and we’d call it a day.

We were wrong.

She went on 6 rides, spent HOURS exploring play structures, loved the DUPLO Build-A-Boat activity, and kept asking to go back to Duplo Playtown.

And what surprised us most?

LEGOLAND isn’t just about the rides.

There are LEGO building areas, imaginative play spaces, climbing structures, splash pads, and little activities around almost every corner. It honestly felt more like one giant interactive playground than a traditional amusement park.

A few things we’d tell first-timers:

🧱 Don’t worry about hitting a certain number of rides. Some of our favorite moments weren’t rides at all.

💦 Bring swimsuits, towels, and extra clothes. We were NOT prepared for the splash pad.

👦 It’s great for multiple ages. Our daughter’s older cousin was on his THIRD day at the park and still didn’t want to leave.

🚤 Don’t skip the DUPLO Build-A-Boat activity. We thought we’d spend 5 minutes there... and our daughter wanted to do it again and again.

Would we come back?
Absolutely.
We’re already talking about our next trip...

Hey @LEGOLANDCALIFORNIA, want to give us a free night at the Castle Hotel so we can make a review about the hotel experience as well? (hey, never hurts to ask. Haha!).

If this guide was helpful, share it with someone you want to take to LEGOLAND. 🧱✨

Santa Clarita parents: You don't need to book a hotel to enjoy LEGOLAND.

We left Santa Clarita around 6AM, made it before the park opened, stayed until closing, and were back home by 8:30PM.

As LEGOLAND newbies, here are a few things that surprised us:

🧱 There are play structures EVERYWHERE.
🚤 Duplo Playtown was perfect for our toddler.
🎢 She went on 6 rides in a single day.
💦 The splash pads are bigger and better than we expected (bring extra clothes.... unlike us 😅).
👦 Her older cousin had been there multiple days and still didn't want to leave.

Honestly, we weren't sure if our daughter was old enough to really enjoy it yet.

Turns out there was more than enough for her to do, and we'd absolutely come back.

One tip we learned: if you know someone with a LEGOLAND pass, ask if they have any guest tickets they're not using. You might end up scoring a free family adventure.

Now we need advice from the pros...

👇 What's your #1 LEGOLAND tip for first-timers?
