About last night: sorcerer’s mirrors, meander wall brackets and obelisks, companionably hung with antiques from @rebeccachristiemiller and curiosities by @bridierhall , as seen at the fabulous party last evening at Pentreath & Hall. What a joy it was to share in the festivities! by @parvumopus

My new Meander wall brackets, in two sizes, on the eve of their introduction. This design came to me while sketching a Greek key/meander plaster ceiling decoration one beautiful afternoon at the @soanemuseum a couple of years ago, and each wooden bracket has been hand-built in Detroit. These will be making their debut at @pentreathandhall as part of our Curiosity Cabinet tomorrow, and on ParvumOpus.com when I return to work next week! Exciting times- more details to come. Fabulous first 📸 @katybeveridge

Obelisks, of course. Conceived by the ancient Egyptians as petrified sun rays, they’re one of my favorite things to build. These new variations, beautifully photographed by @katybeveridge are among the collection of curiosities debuting at Pentreath & Hall next week. Hope to see you there!

The in-between season has arrived, and I’m taking a moment to set the tone for the rest of the year. Like many of you, I’m focusing more and more on the small analog activities I find so rewarding. I have a case of digital fatigue, and from what I hear, many of you are in the same boat. This little pinwheel, made in minutes with a scrap of paper, a few snips of the scissors and a dot of glue, will sit on my desk as a reminder to enjoy those simple, human activities that I’ve loved since I was a child. Maybe together we’ll all rediscover the joy of doing a bit of needlepoint, writing a friendly letter, practicing origami, sewing fun new buttons on a favorite cardigan, making bookmarks & paper-wrapped pencils with decorative paper scraps, browsing art galleries & antiques shops, making a necklace from colorful beads, filling a photo album with real photographs attached with little adhesive corners… Sounds fun to me!

It’s very stormy here again today, so with the electricity outage, this will be a good spot to have some tea and spend time with my books & mineral specimens today. {Shown here, blades of barite, for those who are curious.}
