It will be my first time attending @friendzyfest_mf and I couldn’t be more excited to finally experience what all the hype is about! And on the iconic @from.scratch.ab stage with my @umbralsoundsystem fam to boot. Music is better when there’s FREE FOOD involved 🌮🍜🍳

🕰️ Catch me from 3:00-3:45am Friday night/Saturday morning, with our crew showcase running from 1:30-5:30am, including local stars @tinykeekz @heymacmusic and a legendary b3b with @triggsdj @itsfaeble_ & @medistate.bass

Plus other Umbral homies @lopolomusic & @_ver_dant_ will be playing solo sets! Seriously so much talent on this lineup 🙂‍↕️

Who am I gonna see there?? If you’re going, let me know one of the artists you’re most excited to see, maybe I’ll discover someone new 👀

Tomorrow we air our final episode of the Umbral monthly mix series. For those of you who have hosted or are currently hosting radio shows, you know it’s labour of love. We couldn’t be more grateful for the energy @passage_sound & @gremmah_dubs have given this series over the last 4 years.

To all the artists that have contributed mixes- THANK YOU!we’re so excited these will live on within our SoundCloud page (soundcloud.com/umbralsound). So many mixes to get you through the longest of days.

Tomorrows episode features 2 very special guests; the perfect bow to wrap up this series:

@greymoonmusic has graciously provided a mix all the way from the beautiful Kootenay area. Always curated with intention, one of our favourite things about a Grey Moon mix is the story they tell. Incredible soulful selections to take you on a beautiful journey through tempos.

& of course, @passage_sound - Queen of sultry bass music with a focus on feminine energy. In just 3 weeks time we get a special 2 hour early morning set from Passage at @basscoastfest - so tune in for a sneak peek 👀

These 2 selectors will provide the perfect soundtrack to your summer solstice Sunday. Open your window, listen to the rainfall, and tune into sub.fm online or via the app for our final show tomorrow at 4pm MST.

Thank you all for listening 💜

This Sunday is a lot of things: the summer solstice, Father’s Day, and.. our final episode on Sub FM radio 🥺

It’s a bittersweet ending~ while we love curating shows and providing a platform for Western Canadian artists, the tides are shifting and we need to make space for a new season of growth. And keeping it going for just under 4 years is one heck of a run 🙂‍↕️ So it’s time to let go 🌊🌊🌊

📢 Massive shoutout to every single artist who has contributed to the show over the years, and of course @gremmah_dubs for hosting the first 10 episodes ~ we hope it has inspired you as much as it has for us, cementing just how much incredible talent and community we have in our corner of the world.

For the last time, tune in to Episode 59 on Sunday, June 21st featuring the incomparable @greymoonmusic and your host @passage_sound or if you can’t listen live, go run back any episodes on our eternal SoundCloud archive. And give us a follow while you’re there 🤝

Above all~ thank YOU for listening and supporting local music 💜🖤💜

Episode 5️⃣8️⃣ of our Sub FM monthly mix series coming at you later today, featuring Woadus and trālien 🛸

trālien is a sound system builder and operator, music producer and DJ out of Central Alberta, rooted in sound system culture. He builds the systems, runs them and makes the music that moves through them. You may have seen him out with our friends at Æther Sound System (@ae.sound ) and their beautiful natural wood rig! Best believe his bass is as good as his bins 🔊

“Under trees and over mountains. Those are the places I want to be reflected in my music.”
Patrick Cunningham began the Woadus project with the vision of bringing a natural element to the world of electronic music. Drawing inspiration from folk and world music of all cultures, Woadus evokes a style committed to reconnecting with the earth through music. Channeling the beauty, the power, the provision and the indifference of our planet and giving it a sound 🌲⛰️🌲

📻 Tune in live through the app or sub.fm site

🌊Next up! Buzzin’ with anticipation for the @basscoastfest pre-party in a few short weeks!

Seriously proud of this lineup~ @westerleymusic is a west coast legend and Umbral has been working to get him out to YEG for years. The stars have finally aligned! His sunrise set at Bass Coast 2024 was one of my favorite sets EVER so do not take this booking lightly.

And @marah_irl is an absolute force to be reckoned with, pumping out original tunes like the baddie she is 👑 Expect the bass to rattle the room at a ⚡️new venue ⚡️that we’re so excited about!

If you missed @tinykeekz and I going b2b last August, now’s your chance to make up for it 😘 Our styles go so well together and heck we just have so much FUN! Plus with @misterkou setting the vibe you best believe it’ll be an immaculate evening from start to fin.

And if the music wasn’t enough, you’ll be entered to win a ticket to Bass Coast this summer! Lock in now while you still can 🔒

What a show last night, thank you to everyone who came out for an unforgettable time! 💜

If you were there early, you saw @itsfaeble_ set the tone perfectly with her impeccable selections 🧚‍♀️ And now today we are lucky to have her back on the airwaves going b2b with heavyweight @medistate.bass for Episode 57 of our Sub FM show!

You might already know them as partners in life, and when they team up on the decks they bring that same cohesion to their sets~ merging Faeble’s feminine energy with Medistate’s percussive grooves, always underpinned by proper low end 🙂‍↕️

📡 Tune in live today from 4-6 pm MDT for 2 hours of enchanting b2b action!

If you had told me in 2024 that I would be performing at Bass Coast for the next 3 years in a row, I most certainly would not have believed you. Feeling so lucky and grateful to share music once again at my fave fest!

This time I’ll be curating a vibey, soulful journey for y’all at the iconic Slowtempo stage 🌸

Absolutely love to see fellow Umbral homies @tinykeekz & @lopolomusic on the bill! It’s going to be such a special year ✨

Who will I be seeing on the dance floor?

✨It’s been 3 weeks since Unspoken: Volume II, and we’re still basking in the afterglow ✨

The whole evening was pure magic from start to finish~ the music, the vendors, the painting and performance art~ @_shelajit_ , @little.fiery.one , @keishavirago , @fawnatron , @pandemon_ium , @highku.co_productions , @snowandswirlartistry , @archive_boutique , @kahikodesign ~ I can’t thank you enough for sharing your beautiful art 🌹

I admittedly had a fairly lofty vision with the stage and decor, but it came to life even more enthralling than I envisioned~ that’s the magic of collaboration! Huge shout out to everyone who helped set up (& teardown & clean!), with special mention to deco queen @honorah for transforming the space with her breathtaking floral & chain pieces 🌸

Eternal thanks to @triggsdj for his willingness to help manifest my vision in every way, being my forever emotional support, and making us all sound & look our best 💅 To @tinykeekz for helping organize the door, tying up last minute loose ends, and making our stunning poster 🌹 And @fawnatron for being my confidant, crafty deco partner and honestly just my rock through it all 🌿 Plus @taylorkanary for capturing moments through her lens (photos to come!), @dabbledoom for assisting with the scaffolding, and our amazing security and bartender~ it truly takes a village 🤝

And of course, thank YOU for showing up, sharing your special spark, and supporting our lil downtempo night 🥹 We’re consistently inspired by our community and what we create together! 💐

With gratitude,

xx Passage
