Perhaps I don’t share it enough or speak on it enough, but I’m very aware of the vulnerabilities of women and what we endure. We’re very fragile vessels regardless of our degrees, survival skills, independence, wit, ‘no how’ and beyond. I believe we all have breaking points where pressures mount and then we explode. How grateful we should be as women of God when we learn the power of prayer and casting all of our cares on him. The relief of having a safe place to share our weaknesses, disappointments, hurts, discouragements, bitterness and the plethora of life’s challenges. It’s in those moments of prayer that healing takes place, our hearts are mended, our emotions are stabilized and our hope and peace arises. That’s the tongue that God wants to use to bring peace, love and kindness to others. The religious community always feels safe when things can be categorized or put into a box. I would challenge that leaders have to remain at the cross of Jesus to manage levels of pride and control. It’s easy to teach what is comfortable or controllable for you, instead of diving deeper into God’s revelation and understanding what is most important to him. The Apostle Peter was teaching to a women’s culture of rich and poor, sophisticated and uneducated and bringing them all into the character of Christ. Yes, we as women of God should look our very best representing our Father at all times, but what good is beauty on the outside and a foul spirit on the inside. Solomon said, Ecc 10:1, “As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.” As daughters of the King we are called to be wise women, who knows when to speak and when to hold our peace. taken in TIP Fellowship Ministries by @pastortamarabennett

I’m not sure who started the egotistical, macho manhood that a man with a temper is proof of being a strong man. I can assure you it didn’t come from a Godly Spirit-Filled man. True men of God walk in the kindness, gentleness and meekness of Christ which is of a GREAT STRENGTH. His strength is not in his verbal harsh words, but rather his ability to bring peace to a storm, clarity to confusion, soundness to folly and comfort in chaos. Our 21Day consecration is leading us to deal with the power of the tongue. I know we boast about declaring the Word over our lives and situations, which is necessary. But we also have to learn to tame our tongue and it’s offenses.

James 3:6 “the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.“ We have entered a culture where our tongue has become our greatest weapon and for Believers, this should not be. We operate and are governed by God’s culture of soft answers, kind words and laws of kindness.
