Beyond the chair… Hair will always be a part of what I do, but it’s not the entirety of who I am. I’ve always believed that the impact of my work should extend beyond the salon, and these opportunities in these rooms I get to experience that in a different way. This summer has truly been a breath of fresh air for me. I slowed down & intentionally connected, planted myself in meaningful spaces, and allowed myself to see life, community, and impact through a different lens. I’m thankful for proximity, but even more grateful for the opportunity to witness men and women who are creating real impact in our communities especially for those who are underserved. It’s one thing to recognize a need; it’s another to truly see people and create opportunities that give them a hand up. The @blac_coalition , @dextersullivan , Pastor @pastortamarabennett , and the Estella Boyd Home for Women have truly blessed and inspired me. Sometimes you need certain moments, conversations, and environments to expand your thinking and expose you to what’s possible. This day reminded me that you don’t always have to be the person in the front. There is tremendous value in simply being present, listening, learning, serving, and allowing your perspective to grow. I’m grateful for what I get to do behind the chair, but I’m equally grateful for every opportunity God gives me to learn, serve, connect, and make an impact beyond it. What an honor it is to witness and be a part of history in the making. ❤️ #explorepage✨
