You don’t need to have experience being a speaker, but you need something true, raw, and the willingness to say it out loud, even for the first time. We will help you with the rest.

Toronto, you delivered. 🤍
April 23 marked something we will never forget. The Pathpal Grief Summit brought together leaders, peers, tech providers, entrepreneurs, and community voices for a day of honest, courageous conversation- and it exceeded every expectation.
Our CEO and Founder, Negin Cheleh, took the stage and poured her heart into it. She shared her story, her purpose, and the vision behind Pathpal. This started as a dream. She made it real.
The day was anchored in what matters most- grief. What it means, the many forms it takes, and the gaps that our leaders, organizations, and communities still need to address. These conversations are long overdue, and this room had the courage to have them.
To our incredible speakers and partners, thank you. Your time, your dedication, and your willingness to show up for something this important did not go unnoticed. You helped make this the first of its kind, and we are so grateful you were part of it.

“ Keep Moving” Has been something I always say, in regards to movement and excersice, however over the last year it’s become even more of an anchor to help me navigate grief. I heard a quote “ we don’t move through grief, we move with it”, and that changed everything for me.

As someone who has spent over a decade studying and researching how humans can move through emotion- grief was never one of them. After Jax my beloved best furfirned passed away - I went into deep research to better understand what I was feeling and how it was impacting me.

I learned that we have been taught to think grief is episodic, and something you heal from and move on. Which just isn’t true. It’s an ever evolving emotion that changes you forever. Grief emcompasses loss of life, however it also can mean loss of what was, loss of friendships, loss of fur babies, loss of career/work etc.

Every single person has experienced grief in some way, and I am so proud that my friends @neg_in_wonderland and @jason_m_mota created the @pathpalgriefsummit . A safe space to learn, to grow, and most importantly discuss how grief can impact us all differently and how we can all KEEP MOVING.

Meet Kathryn Botchford, MBA, President & Founder of MARKAT Group Inc. (Toronto) and panelist for Grief in Real Time.

A leader in enterprise risk, AI governance, and digital transformation, Kathryn has guided some of the world’s most complex, regulated organizations through IPOs, global restructures, and AI adoptions. But it’s what doesn’t appear on her CV that brings her to this conversation.

In 2019, Kathryn’s husband died suddenly and publicly. No warning. Seventeen years of life, gone. She was left raising three children, ages 8, 6, and 3, navigating school runs and family routines while carrying grief no one around her could fully see. The steadiness she showed up with every day masked long nights of practical and emotional labor, private battles, and the quiet, relentless work of rebuilding.
