MN 🇫🇷🤿🪖 If you’re looking to start your Marine Nationale collection, here is your chance. Not many issued MN pieces come to market as they tend to stay in collections for a long time. Plus most MN issued watches are rare. What we have here is the Auricoste Spirotechnique. Issued to Marine Nationale. This one dates back to 1992, and with its issued caseback marking 1086B denoting it was issued in Brest. Brest is the home of the French Navy and is a historical military port of the Marine Nationale. Auricoste was one of the brands that replaced the Tudor Submariner within the MN units in the early to mid 1980’s. It was the primary issued watch for combat swimmers (nageurs de combat) and mine clearance divers (plongeurs démineurs). La Spirotechnique (now known) as the Aqualung Group was founded by Jacques Cousteau and Emile Gagnan, who then went on to patent and invent the first aqualung regulator. Cousteau himself was a French Naval officer in WWII and helped establish the French Commando Frogman Unit. The Auricoste has an incredible history but it is also a handsome diver with all boxes ticked, designed to withstand extreme military use. Plus that iconic yellow scuba diver on the dial. Blancpain Beauties 🤿🪖 It was worth the wait! Congratulations to the brilliant @amsterdam_watch_co and @squaleofficial @squale.limited.edition on a fantastic job! After the initial launch in 2020 of the Subino and No Radiations these NOS Blancpain cases, signed “Rayville SA” sold out on the same day. Only 60 of each were ever made, with one last reference still yet to come. Fast forward to now and the Milbino, a tribute to the amazing Fifty Fathoms Milspec, housed in original Bathyscape cases arrives. Milspec 🪖🇬🇧🤿 We love a CWC at Patina Nationale, especially the SBS Diver versions. CWC have supplied the SBS (Special Boat Service) of the Royal Navy since 1987 and still does to certain specialist units. Built like a tank and incredibly reliable, this is a mil spec watch in the truest sense. Occasionally a civilian version (like this one) can become as collectible as some issued pieces, and this is one such case. In 2007 and 2008 the markers and indices have this unique warm pumpkin patina which collectors of all brands love, but especially military versions. Likely to have been a slightly different material on the dials of this particular series of watches. Finding a good version of these, in this condition is always difficult but thankfully you don’t need to. CWC SBS Diver. 2007. On a Phoenix nato.
