We are delighted to announce that @patrick__mcdowell is the recipient of The Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, which was presented to the founder and creative director, Patrick McDowell, by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales today in London at a showcase that mirrored the designer’s atelier.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins and a previous BFC scholar, McDowell launched his label in 2018 with a mission to redefine the role of sustainability within the fashion industry. The QEII Award was launched in 2018 in recognition of the role the fashion industry plays in society and to spotlight talented designers who are leading the way in terms of sustainable practices and community engagement.

‘Love’ SS27

“My boyfriend’s favourite film is “In The Mood for Love.” It felt like a perfect starting point for this collection, set in the early 1960’s, a time when fashion was evolving with many heroes of the day like Balenciaga, Dior and Givenchy exploring fashion with fresh eyes. Researching incredible socialites from America like Lee Radziwill and of course her sister Jackie. At a time where politics was becoming more liberal and fashion was reacting to that, perhaps this is my wish for today, that somehow we will find love and acceptance again” taken in London, United Kingdom by @patrick__mcdowell

The Art of Adornment: Pandora x Patrick McDowell at @londonfashionweek

Pandora celebrates British fashion and creativity with renowned designer @patrick__mcdowell for his SS27 show, bringing jewellery and couture together in a collection inspired by love, freedom and self-expression.

@munrobergdorf, @kellyrutherford, @leomieanderson and friends of the House joined the front row to see three one-of-a-kind runway looks, each hand-embroidered with Pandora jewellery in McDowell’s London atelier, taking over 500+ hours.

Inspired by early 1960s American socialites and In the Mood for Love, the collection transforms jewellery and existing materials into modern works of wearable art.
