Meanwhile in Mexico…

Vincenzo is getting ready for the holidays.

I’ve been spending my days with local leather craftsmen, sourcing hardware, matching colors, and rethinking the details that make a bag feel truly special.

For this limited edition of the Vincenzo 26, I’ve taken the design a step further with a 100% natural goat skin interior. It gives the bag a softer, more refined finish while allowing for easier care, more room inside, and better structural retention.

And then there’s the color…

Peanut Brittle Brown joins the collection alongside a limited selection of colors, each produced in very small quantities.

The Vincenzo 26 is expected to arrive mid-November. For those who want one before the holidays, preorders are now open by DM or through the website.

And because one adventure is never enough…

Next spring, we begin the Vincenzo 13 in embroidered canvas.

More from Mexico soon.

There is a kind of magic that exudes from confidence. It requires no words, yet holds the world captive as you saunter by in a flowing array of color.

It shines through your presence, your attitude, and the way you move. The clothes you wear emphasize the power of you, dancing and swaying about you in a fiery, cyclonic furioso with each step forward, while all else slows to a halt just to watch you walk by, in awe of your existence.

Don’t settle for less than being everything.

Do you know this feeling?

Are you wearing PATRICK CUPID?

One of the highest compliments is seeing the models you work with genuinely enjoying your clothing.

Yes, it’s true that some wear your pieces because it’s good business, but occasionally, you get to witness that spark of joy in someone wearing garments they truly appreciate.

Models understand fashion and clothing in a way few others do. After all, it’s their business to wear all types of garments from different designers and brands.

In my opinion, they are the secret authority when it comes to understanding a good garment. They feel the fabrics, test the fit, assess the style, comfort, construction, and wearability of so much clothing that they develop an understanding of what truly works.

And when you see that genuine appreciation, you know you’ve created something special.

I’ve been working behind the scenes producing fashion shows since high school. The first of which were charitable fundraisers, as I was school president, class president, and representative. I was reminded of one such show when I ran into an old classmate a few months ago.

In the early part of my journey, I ran my own modeling agency and produced shows for other emerging designers for several years as a way to meet people and learn about the industry I aimed to be part of.

I even did a stint working with the Ground Crew backstage during 7thOnSixth at Bryant Park dressing models for the Randolf Duke show. In awe of everything happening around me, I held tight to the idea that one day my own clothes would grace the runway. I’ll talk more about this in another post because there is a pattern of some significance I hold from that experience.

Anyway, most shows only run about 15 minutes in total presentation time, which doesn’t account for the months, days, and hours of preparation spent prior to the main event.

In earnest, all the moments leading up to the show are my favorite. The part that actually stays with me.

It’s the interaction of the people, the building of concepts, the incredible teams that come together, and the fluid creative energy that pervades every aspect of the show, like an insider secret the rest of the world isn’t privy to.

It’s that place where the magic takes form before the audience of enthusiasts are captivated by its spell.

I have sat in the audience of many a show across the world in three decades by now, and there are no words to describe the excitement that comes with such a privilege.

Yet it is the work rarely seen where my heart lives.

And as I make the walk down the runway at the close of each season, I am grateful for all that I, with the support of so many, have accomplished.

That said, I want to give a huge thank you to the incredible team behind @mmmfashionshow for allowing me to be part of such an auspicious event and for being a part of my journey.

There is so much more to the runway than what happens on it.

He went on to study at top-tier fashion institutions including the Parsons School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.), and the Politecnico di Milano in Italy. Before establishing his independent brand, he worked extensively for over a decade as a luxury design consultant and stylist across both the United States and Europe. His work earned him the F.I.T. Critics Choice Award in 2013 and the prestigious CFDA Harlem Fashion Row Icon 360 grant in 2020. taken in Harlem Baby !!!! by @patrickcupid

Well, it’s #NYFW, and before I get into the details, excitement, and highs of last night’s show, my first choice is to give my gratitude, thanks, appreciation, and love to my team.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to @joniknight for helping to assemble such a solid, hardworking, skilled team of interns who showed up ready and delivered.

Not only were you guys professional, but you also showed foresight and ingenuity, with warmth, grace, and a work ethic full of integrity that is impossible to ignore.

I am so happy to have had you beside me, and I hope you know that part of the applause belongs to you!

You guys are truly amazing!!!

Thank you:

Ok, let’s talk about how I spent the better part of my day hunting down Sateen Faced Cotton Poplin for a custom order.

Normally, I’d order it directly from the supplier, but seven yards doesn’t quite make the cut where tariffs are concerned.

So, I traversed the streets of NYC, grateful for the beautiful weather, visiting no less than six jobbers while cold calling wholesalers along the way in search of exactly what I was looking for.

My first stop at Mazel Tex would have done the trick, except Moesha only had six yards on hand and I needed seven.

Along the way, I popped into BJ’s for an Imported Italian Poplin and was shocked by the current price of cotton shirting, averaging around $40 per yard, versus some locations offering a different quality at around $9–$11 on closeout.

But as a designer, the quality of the textile is extremely important to me, so I don’t cut corners.

Integrity first and the good will follow.

Not to mention, this will be the first, and for the time being, only Black Walking Dress to exist.

Yet you’d think finding solid black cotton would be easy.

Nope!!

Demand and price have made the availability of certain colors and qualities increasingly scarce. Almost no supplier I visited carried enough black Poplin options to meet my needs.

In the end, BJ’s Italian Poplin was the winner.

Honestly, I knew it the moment I saw it.

As a loyal consumer, I was able to get it at a reasonable price, and the fabric is absolutely gorgeous.

Now comes the fun part.

Stay tuned for the finished product…

When I’m not designing, I make time to build relationships, stay curious, and see what’s happening in the market.

Today I joined the founder of @maison_amanzya , for a visit to the Alchemy Edit Pop Up Collective. We met some wonderful people, discovered emerging brands, and had the chance to try some incredible products.

Checkout @shopalchemynyc

One skincare brand, in particular, really stood out. Care to guess which one? I’ll be reaching out soon to explore a collaboration.

But if I’m being honest, the best part of the day was simply spending time with Salma. The rest was just an added bonus.
