One of the true pleasures of my professional life is getting to speak to inspiring people about conservation. This past weekend I had the unique privilege to speak to the Texas Conservation Alliance Board and guests at their annual meeting about the power of grassroots conservation. It’s a funny thing…when you are around inspiring conservarionists…you always walk away more inspired. The upcoming edition of TIDE Magazine is truly a gem. The cover by @lagunabyandres is simply stunning. Haunting, creative, beautiful…..definitely going to be one of the Best-Of Winners for us for 2026.
Our content champion @dannowise delivers another fantastic piece on Texas redfish. Danno delivers!!
Longtime writer and photographer Frank Sargent has a super insightful piece on tarpon and our Ask An Expert features Josh Boyles who is the Sales Director for @marshwearclothing and has a long, storied history in guiding, retail, marketing, surfing and all things cool and outdoors.
There are features on everything from an inspiring habitat project by @ccalouisiana to a wildly entertaining piece on snakehead fishing by @chazlevine

I was clearing out old photos and stumbled up on this gem of @the_guide_post Chris Bush and me after a @speckled_truth podcast. It reminded me why we all care so much about our coastal resources, but more importantly, it reminded me that the best…the very best…people are always found in fishing. Just got the pre-mailing print copies of TIDE Magazine and this edition is packed. Killer Texas tarpon photo on the cover by the amazing @dannowise . Although Danno has shot many, many covers, this is his first for TIDE, and surely won’t be his last. Our 50th anniversary retrospective continues and focuses on the Texas hatcheries and that now more than one billion fish have been released into Texas bays…..almost unimaginable!! There is a jetty fishing piece by living legend Joe Doggett, our Ask An Expert section focuses on the always inspiring @texas_josh, and shark fanatic @thechestermoore explores his favorite subject….Great White Sharks in the Gulf. It’s rounded out with tarpon, snook, and salmon pieces among others and wraps up with another wildly creative dish from Chef Heather Peterek. It’s worth every moment to dig through it!! #coastalconservation #CCA #fishing by @patrickdmurray
