thanks so much to the lovely @nd_baumecker for inviting us back to the panorama bar / berghain for our 4th live-show there!
it was an honour and a pleasure for us to play the release-show of our 2nd album there after our debut ten years ago!
this time we "re-opened" the panorama bar at 7:30pm, as the garden floor was open before with @bradley_zero holding it down there in sunny weather with a fabulous set getting the whole place moving in such a deep, bubbly and playful way. big up!
we started our live-set on an empty floor but the dancers rushed in as soon as the doors opened and it was filled up just minutes later.
thank you to this attentive, respectful and energetic crowd, the vibes were fantastic and we really felt at ease playing! after us @fabio_monesi took over in fine style!
also a very big thanks to the wonderful and super-friendly crew: sound technicians, lighting, artist care, bar and driver! taken in Berghain / Panorama Bar by @patrickpulsinger

how me made our album AALLIIAASS:
we kept it raw & simple!
two samplers (SP1200 & MPC2000XL) going through a classic mackie 16-channels mixer. the only additional effects we used live were the @benidub.audio filtro on one channel of the SP and the @bugbrand_bristol PTdelay on the aux send.
we recorded all tracks live in stereo, mostly two 7-9 minutes jams and then did some simple editing.
after that the mixes went straight to mastering at @mikegrinser / @manmademastering .

we're celebrating the release of our 2nd album ("AALLIIAASS") this sunday at the panorama bar!
because of good weather the garden floor will be open, with @make.a.dance & @bradley_zero playing from noon til 8pm.
we're re-opening the panorama floor at 7:30pm with our live-set!
after us is @fabio_monesi and then closing by the great @nd_baumecker & @jorkes0 !
this is our fourth time playing live at the panorama bar, it's great to be back!

you can pre-order our new album AALLIIAASS and the vinyl EP I on bandcamp now! with the pre-order you immediately get the first four tracks of the album.
the second vinyl EP will be out in late october.
the (early) digital bandcamp release of the album will be on september 11th (along with the vinyl EP I), all other digital platforms on september 25th.
a note regarding the vinyl: all tracks on both vinyl EPs end in perfect locked grooves, expertly cut in fine style by @mikegrinser at @manmademastering !
this new album has a different approach than our earlier, more dub-focused records. we recorded it live only using a SP1200, a MPC2000XL, a delay unit and an oldschool 16-channel mackie mixer.

10 years after our first live show there and the release of our debut-album "mud".

Patrick Pulsinger (born 1970 in Weißenfels, GDR) has been producing and composing music for more than twenty years and has made a name for himself in many fields through numerous international releases and live performances.

His first solo releases in the early and mid-1990s grew out of the basic concept of techno, which was based on computers and analog synthesizers.

In 1993, Pulsinger co-founded the label Cheap Records as a platform for experimentation with his own productions and those of like-minded artists. More recently, he has been working as a producer at his own recording studio in Vienna, among other things. In Austria, he has collaborated with many artists, including Gerard, Bauchklang, Elektro Guzzi, Mile Me Deaf, Maja Osojnic, and BulBul; internationally, he has worked with Hercules and Love Affair, DJ Hell, David Holmes, the Anti-Pop Consortium, Grace Jones, and the Pet Shop Boys, among others. His intensive exploration of analog recording techniques, improvisation, and the exchange of musical ideas has led to collaborations with musicians such as Franz Hautzinger, Rozemarie Heggen, Hilary Jeffrey, Wolfgang Mitterer, Christian Fennesz, Hans Joachim Rödelius, Pamelia Kurstin, and Modeselektor. Pulsinger has performed at numerous international music festivals; in 2010, he curated a special program section at Wien Modern, and in 2013, he served as curator of the Vienna Popfest. He has also received commissions to compose works for the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, which premiered at the Wien Modern festival and at the Musikprotokoll as part of the Steirischer Herbst festival. His body of work also includes film scores—including one for Stefan Ruzowitzky’s new feature film—as well as music for theater and ballet.

This Thursday (7–9 pm), we’re incredibly proud to welcome Patrick Pulsinger & Erdem Tunakan for “35 Years of Cheap Records“ - a talk, listening session, and open Q&A in the intimate setting of our shop.

As the founders of Cheap Records, they built one of Austria’s most influential electronic music labels, helped shape the country’s electronic music scene, and left a lasting impact on generations of artists, DJs, and music enthusiasts.

Together, we’ll revisit 35 years of music, stories, and memories in this intimate conversation and listening session. A selection of their sought-after releases will be available exclusively at the shop after the talk.

When we opened A8, evenings like this were exactly what we dreamed of: creating a space where the people who shape our culture can share their stories up close. A space that connects, inspires, and creates a sense of belonging.

We can’t wait to share this evening with all of you.
