So my manager was sound AF and gave me #photoshop the other day so figured I would have a mess around and test my skills. Never done a course, never been trained, just self taught, a lot of trial and error and a lil bit of patience.. very happy with the results.. swipe left to see the before picture and how I made the final image! Just a little over 2 weeks ago I was in New York City and got to see both this beautiful memorial and the 9/11 memorial museum for the second time. This time however, it was a little more real.
I found myself standing next to the memorial and taking focus on the name Betty Ann Ong. Attached to the engraved name was an American flag, single white rose and a picture of her. Seeing her face made everything so much more real. After paying my respects, I went into the 9/11 memorial museum and quickly learned more about this lady. Inside the museum were multiple audio messages recorded from within Flight 11. Betty Ann Ong was one of those. She was working as a flight attendant upon Flight 11 and was one of the first people to contact ground control and alert them that the plane had been hijacked. This incredibly brave lady remained calm whilst alerting ground control of the events that were taking place on that plane. This brave, professional and selfless lady was the first person to give the alert that America was under attack. Horrifically the audio message cuts out as Flight 11 hits the World Trade Centre. Hearing her voice and seeing a picture of her next to the memorial is something that I will never ever forget. Betty Ann Ong is the definition of a true hero. A person who was able to remain calm and professional during the most unimaginable events.
My thoughts are with those that lost their lives that day, the unthinkable heroics of all Emergency Staff and all my American friends and family who was impacted that day. #neverforget #911 taken in National September 11 Memorial & Museum by @patsypatten
