🥂welcome prosecco & pizza 🥂

This Monday at The Mazi Project, we're hosting "Hospitality Conversations: Can We Talk About Consent" - you'll get a chance to view the exhibition followed by a presentation from ACAS and small group discussions as we try to make sense of what taking "all reasonable steps" to prevent sexual harassment means (as stated in new legislation from the Employment Rights Act 2025). The bar will be open serving cocktails - Consentual S✨x on the Beach, P✨star mar-tea-nis and Fr✨garita as well as soft drinks, wine and Tiny Rebel beer. Please be mindful of the difficult themes of the exhibition (🍇) and only come if you're in a good headspace. Tickets are on Headfirst - it's really helpful to book so we know how many people to get pizza for 😅

Join @ila_in_the_wild this Sunday for a practical workshop on consent in every day settings - how do we meaningfully ask for consent when borrowing things, sharing photos of your friends on social media or negotiating boundaries. We'll use conversation cards with prompts of fictional scenarios to practice possible ways of responding, noticing if and why any awkwardness comes up. Don't be nervous if you're thinking of coming by yourself - we'll only be a small group in a welcoming/inclusive space 🏳️‍🌈✨

The workshop is taking place during the "Can we talk about consent exhibition" - please be mindful of only attending if you are in the right headspace ☕🍇

There will be a bar at the venue serving tea, cocktails, soft drinks and snacks 🥨🍹

A moment to breathe with @suki_inner_balance 🌬️

Taking place during my exhibition "Can we talk about consent" at @themaziproject, this free half hour session will allow us time to feel grounded and present in our bodies as we sit with the difficult themes of the artwork. Suki has over twenty years experience of leading compassionate sessions to help us deal with all the pressures placed upon us 🌱

The workshop will lead directly into The Everyday Consent Lab session led by @ila_in_the_wild

Please note this session is taking place during a consent theme exhibition so only come if you are in the right headspace (TW:🍇)

Your free spots can be booked on Headfirst as we only have limited spaces. Donations welcome 💞

"Can we talk about consent?" exhibition opens at @themaziproject encouraging us to have the conversations too often left unspoken. TW: 🍇

Opening times (for the general public) are:
☕ Saturday 19th September 1pm-5pm
☕ Sunday 20th September 11am-5pm

Both days will include drop in crafts activities, a reading corner and a stand from @yunosexualhealth

☕ On Sunday there will be a breathing exercises session led by @suki_inner_balance 3-3.30pm followed by a workshop on consent in everyday situations 3.30-5pm where we will practice setting boundaries, asking for permission and saying no without feeling awkward - facilitated by @ila_in_the_wild

✨ SPACES ARE LIMITED ✨ both workshops are free to attend but please secure your spot on Headfirst.

☕ On Monday 21st September 6.30-9.30pm I'm hosting an event in the exhibition space aimed at anyone who works or has previously worked in hospitality, to discuss how we can keep staff safe from unwanted behaviours both at the workplace and during work social situations such as the Christmas party. A representative from ACAS will be explaining some new legislation around this and we'll be working in small groups to discuss while enjoying a slice of pizza from @pizzarova and cocktails made by my best friend Charlie ✨

🙏 Please get in touch if you would like to speak at this event - either to share a story of something you experienced or to talk about what you currently do to keep staff safe at work/any great ideas that more workplaces could implement ✨

💞 Pick a workshop 💞

There's still a week left to help me pick workshops and craft activities for my upcoming exhibition "Can we talk about consent" at @themaziproject in Bristol ☕

Apart from sharing my paintings, I wanted to make the event a real conversation starter about what enthusiastic consent should look like and how we can promote better education about it.

Opening times:

Saturday 19th September 13:00-17:00
Sunday 20th September 11:00-17:00

✨ SAVE THE DATE ✨

For my first exhibition in Bristol 🗓️🎨

This September, I'm bringing together a collection of artwork which explores the journey of healing from 🍇while encouraging viewers to have much needed conversations about what consent should actually look like. On the Saturday and Sunday afternoon the space will be open to the public with some therapeutic craft activities and (potentially) a speaker or workshop on one of the days. The Monday evening will be a special event aimed at managers and staff in the hospitality sector encouraging conversations around better training in the workplace. A bar will be open serving cold drinks, tea and cocktails 🥂

➡️ I'm open to hearing your suggestions for workshops/speakers/craft activities ✨

🌞 SUMMER SOCIAL 🌞

Back to fundraising after a little break (I've been busy trying to organise an exhibition). The end of August marks two years since Charlie started taking hormones yay 🧬 in that time they've only gotten more expensive so all our party profits will be going directly towards the costs of her HRT 🥰

Our good friends @howarthlucy and @montgomeryburns.bmr have recently taken over as new managers (and only staff of) the @coachandhorses_oldmarket making it a super welcoming and cosy venue where everyone is celebrated just for being themselves. So we are also excited to spend some money at their bar, I guess 💞

I don't have an exact plan for this social yet but it will definitely feature some games and/or crafty activities but more importantly it will just be nice to spend some time with everyone 🏳️‍⚧️

It's never too early to think about Halloween...

Since Frog Theme Thirty was such a success, and a fun evening for you all, I've decided to book the same space again for another fundraiser party in October.

Halloween is on a Saturday this year, it would have been rude not to 👻✨

More details will come closer to the time, in the meantime I'm also planning an end of summer event which will take place at the Coach and Horses in Bristol (recently under new management) 🐎🐎 by @patternedfrog

Little froggy canvas is looking for a new home 🏠

As I'm preparing for an exhibition, I'm trying to clear out all the old little paintings. I don't know why these frogs have no arms but it kinda suits them.

✨ sparkle and shine ✨

Had a surprisingly fun time adding a bit of collage to a painted background. Not what I usually work with but I like the result 😲🌱
