I have no idea what I’m doing but I’m enjoying learning this awesome hobby, one step at a time hey!

POSTS STORIES REELS

Well, I finally finished the Armageddon Ork Warboss. Loved painting this chap, he kinda reset my hobby a little for me. An absolute joy to paint and tried a couple of new things, definitely got to practice chequers a fair amount and some new techniques for leather which I was quite happy with. And of course I got to paint some green skin tones which I really enjoyed.
Thanks for all the encouragement you lot gave as I painted him up and to @simonsbrushwork for the inspiration of your own version of this miniature. by @paulkidd1977

Slowly getting there, more progress on the Ork Warboss. He’s together now at least and I’m starting to paint all the smaller details, a fair bit to go yet but progress is progress right!! by @paulkidd1977

Working on some ‘weathered’ chequers, more tricky than I thought. I keep either going too dark or too bright. Think I’ll paint some other areas and see how they look, might be that against so much black primer they just look too bright. Trusting the process is difficult some times 😅 by @paulkidd1977

Trying to get a couple of different leather looks for the Warboss, maybe the pouch needs a little toning down but overall I quite like the two different colour types. I think they are separate enough so the trousers don’t blend in with the belts etc. by @paulkidd1977

Started the Ork Warboss from the Armageddon set over the weekend, I did do the face and the other arm also. About 7 to 8 hours so far (I’m so slow), trying to practice my glazing both in the shadows and as a highlight. Skin has ‘rosey apple’ look to it and I’m happy so far, I really love the ‘simple’ sculpt with this model, I find painting him quite relaxing! by @paulkidd1977

Quite excited to get to grips with the new Ork Warboss from the Armageddon set, I want to add some freehand on this mini as well, I feel Orks are a good place to start with that sort of thing as it can still be a bit rough and fit with the Ork style. Going to go with Goff Orks to match up with Ghazghkull, maybe some NMM too but we’ll see how things go! by @paulkidd1977

Huron Blackheart finally complete!
#miniaturepainting #warhammercommunity #paintingwarhammer #warhammerofficial #redcorsairs by @paulkidd1977

At last my Huron Blackheart is finished! I didn’t realise that painting him would be such a challenge, so many small details to paint in, hopefully I’ve done him justice. I’m certainly happy with what I’ve achieved here, still on the quest for refinement but I’m quite happy with him. Thanks ever so much for tagging along with me for this one I really appreciate it.

I see this pose as just before the battle starts with him roaring to rouse the troops, finding the nearest ‘tactical’ rock to roar from surrounded by greenery, it was either that or a lava base but this time green won, I used tufts and moss by @siegescenics with some flower type tufts as well. Next, well, I’ve got some Orks to paint! by @paulkidd1977

Getting Huron Blackheart done bit by bit, just a WIP photo but he’s at least put together (mostly). Still plenty to do and refine as you can see but I’m getting there! Gonna find the face and bottles tricky but looking forward to that challenge when I get to it!

Some minis in the cabinet at @ironskulluk see you there! See the final Ghaz update!!

At last!! Yep after several months of ‘The Ghaz update’ on the podcast @paintperspectivepodcast he’s finally finished. Added a few @siegescenics tufts and moss pads to the base as well!

What a monster to paint up, far more work than I imagined but totally worth it as I’m over the moon with the finished model. Had a little go at chequers - need more practice but overall I’m very happy with the finished Ghazghkull Thraka, just in time for 11th Edition just round the corner. Makes me want to paint another Ork!

A cheeky wip of Ghazghkull Thraka I’m ‘still’ working on, the finish line is visible though and I’m nearing the end. Some small areas to still sort out and of course the base but I’m hoping to finish him before the official release of 11th edition.
Really starting to enjoy painting this chap, struggled to begin with but he’s grown on me over the past few months. Really glad I didn’t keep him in the drawer and pushed myself to get him done. Having the self imposed deadline of 11th has given me a finish line! Also be nice to have some proper photos done once I’m finished!
