How do you manage running / racing nerves?

It’s absolutely normal before certain runs and races to feel some nervous. Your mind is predicting something important is about to happen. The stakes are high, you want to get it right and not fail.

cortisol and adrenaline start to rise in anticipation sometimes days before. That’s your body working perfectly what contain is your perception of your physical experience, race and run. How you talk to yourself really does matter.

@pmruncoach set the challenge as my new running coach and I managed to just get there in my second park run this year. Coaching is taking my running to the next level, which means sub 20… I’m coming for you. 😍.

What I’m loving about my running journey in my mid 50s is how much of this is a privilege to do. Plus I’m very curious as to what is possible for me as a runner and hyrox racer. I’m very fearful as what a time to be alive and get to do this 🙌

There’s a future me that’s grateful I am doing this and might be wishing they could be back here doing it again.

There is nothing like running with friends on a beautiful sunny day. 😎. So many runners out on the seafront enjoying the sun and preparing for various races! This is Brighton at its best ❤️
