You applied to be a veterinary receptionist. Somehow, you became so much more.

The front desk is so much more than answering phones, and it’s time we started recognizing the skills it takes to do this job well.

Which one are you adding to your résumé? 👇

Your new hire shouldn’t have to learn everything by guessing, asking 47 questions a day, or just “watching someone else.” 😂

A little structure goes a LONG way when it comes to building confidence at the front desk.

Save this for your next new hire! 🐾💚

Let’s talk about patience during training. 👀

Sometimes you’re tired, overwhelmed, and you’ve explained the same thing several times…and you snap.

That doesn’t make you a bad trainer. But it’s a reminder to pause, repair, and reset.

Your trainee is learning, and they may be overwhelmed, nervous, and trying their best.

And remember: your mental health matters too. You’re allowed to take a breath, step away, and come back with a clearer head.

Training takes patience.
For them, and for you. ❤️ by @pawsitive.reception

Use your PTO, take breaks when you need them, don’t let burn out be your reason for a day off, be preemptive and take care of you.
