I grew up on the South Side of Chicago.

Hunting wasn’t part of my world. Honestly — I thought people who did it were a little off.

Then I moved to Texas many years ago. Decided to try it. And recently ended up in the field with one of the best hunting guides in the world.

What @pbc_hunt taught me had nothing to do with guns or killing.

It had everything to do with patience. Discipline. Ego. Spirituality. And what we are quietly losing in the modern world.

This is one of the realest conversations we’ve ever had on @thealpharenaissance

The Eric Nelson Memorial Flyfishing Festival at Port Bay Club. Adverse conditions (WIND and high water) made for some tough fishing, but a good time was had by all. Thanks to @blackduckskiffs for bringing out a beautiful skiff to display, @templeforkoutfitters and @sawgrassrods for donating rods for prizes, and all of this year's participants. #Texas #coast #fishing #saltwater #flyfishing #redfish by @pbc_hunt

As great as the Texas Coast is, every so often you need thin air and a little elevation. #elk #archery #mountains by @pbc_hunt
