A few mermaids traveled to Rochester, NY to support a new female tournament director, Pam Schuner <3 The Women ROC Fall Frenzy was held at Big Guys Campground. It was a great location for a fun fall event. 🍂

Our club donated some raffle and CTP prizes to the event. There was a fun putting challenge followed by a pizza lunch and then a sanctioned round of play. This was an excellent opportunity to meet and throw with other female disc golfers. Many of these ladies also regularly travel to our course to compete and support our events too.

Pam and the other ROC women made us feel so welcomed. There were 25 competitors in 10 divisions and only 2 Canadians 🍁🍁 . Competitors ranged from 15 years to over 70 years young. @kristie__dawn__ took 4th place of the 7 women in FA4 and @anjeroo took 2nd place in FA3 by just one stroke off of first place! This was the largest field Kristie has ever competed in. This was a first look at this course for both these mermaids too.

Hopefully this becomes an annual event we can continue to travel to and support. Maybe next time we can arrange a fun camping weekend too! 🏕️

Dion is in a lot of pain.👇

Most people who meet him would probably never know it.

After a serious car accident in 2009,

Dion Eden was left with chronic pain and limited mobility.

Disc golf became difficult enough that he had to teach his body how to play again.

But what Dion did with that experience is pretty remarkable.

Instead, he used that experience to make disc golf more accessible for others.

And he got to work.

🥏 Founded All-Accessible Disc Golf to advocate for people with disabilities and limited mobility.

♿ Developed an accessibility rating system for disc golf courses and worked with UDisc to bring accessibility information to its platform.

🌎 Created Playing in My Shoes, which started here in BC and has now grown across Canada, reaching more than 40 locations.

⛳ Designed Pine Park in Keremeos specifically around wheelchair accessibility and has helped design other courses in BC.

🤝 Worked with Indigidisc to help bring affordable disc golf opportunities to First Nations and remote communities.

📖 Had his accessibility work featured in Disc Golfer Magazine, helping bring the conversation to a much larger audience.

And today, Dion serves as President of the BC Disc Golf Association.

That’s the Dion we get to see behind the scenes.

He’s constantly giving us his all and pushing us to be better.

But what stands out to me most is where he keeps bringing the conversation:

How can we be more selfless?

How can we help more people across BC?

All while dealing with pain that most of us never see.

There are meetings, phone calls and countless hours of work that the average disc golfer will never know happened.

But they’ll feel the impact. taken in British Columbia by @pdga_canada

For the 3rd year, the @stcatharineswomensdiscgolfclub has been part of the activities and celebration at the Queenston Neighbours Harvest Festival. This is a wonderful event highlighting the best of the Queenston neighbourhood. So many businesses, churches, and community supports come together to make a memorable day for families.

There were 3 chances to sink a putt from different distances to score some early Hallowe'en candy! We had a variety of ages try their hand at the prize and walk away smiling 🥰 Thank you to the @queenstonneighbours for allowing us to share disc golf with the community and bring awareness to Richard Pierpoint Park too.

This weekend, @chainlinkdiscgolf spent time at @mec introducing people to disc golf and sharing how the ChainLink Conservation Series connects people to nature while raising funds for local conservation. 🥏🌿

It was great to help people try something new and share a lesson that goes well beyond disc golf: keep trying and never give up!

MEC carries all the gear you need for fall disc golf and getting outside to enjoy the season.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, and to MEC for welcoming us!

Last weekend Chris Kotyk assisted by Andréa Michaud hosted a fun Prodigy Disc Birdie Derby Tournament. It brought together a fantastic group of skilled and new disc golfers, with almost 1/3 of the event attendees being female!

By including a "New to competition" division, two amazing events occurred: Irina Boren , Carrie Anne and Cali Kotyk felt confident to participate in their first tournament AND several of the experienced ladies in the club stepped into leadership roles.

Kristie Litt (also Beginner champion for the event) stepped up in a huge way to help Carrie and Irinia feel calm and comfortable competing. Kristie helped clarify rules, explain how mandos and island holes work while keeping a positive vibe on the card to quell nerves.

Tasha Dowd took down her 2nd tournament win (Women's Intermediate division) and also stepped into a leadership role. Tasha welcomed Nathalie Guenard to our group of mermaids and also supported Cali's learning throughout the day. She helped keep spirits up even on the long holes and assisted Cali learn about CTPs.

Women will step into leadership roles when they have a supportive and encouraging environment to learn in and grow. We are all so proud of ladies stepping up to help others and make them more comfortable on the fairway and in competition.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 British Columbia Women’s Series, proudly sponsored by @mvpdiscsports —and what an unforgettable season it has been. Across five events and two fundraisers, six tournament directors, two new courses, and more than 200 players—including 14 juniors—came together to celebrate women and girls in disc golf. My cup truly runneth over with gratitude for the heartfelt messages and moments shared by our players and volunteers. Together, we created something powerful, welcoming, and deeply special.

A six-month series like this is only possible because so many people choose to step forward. From the volunteers (some working behind the scenes) to our hole sponsors and generous donors, every contribution helped bring this season to life. We are deeply grateful for the communities that continue to show up, lift one another up, and make space for players to grow with confidence. Our main series sponsors this year were @mooseandtide @zenwildbotanicals @pdga_canada @bcdiscgolf @chewters @doubleram.disc @duolynxprint and @bcengraving Thank you for believing in this series and in everyone who takes part!

Thank you to @ryanpenner_realtor for sponsoring the $1,000 Ace hole. Although no aces were hit, the added incentive brought so much excitement to the event.

Thank you to @kingsmusicltd our lunch sponsor, for providing an amazing make-your-own sandwich spread that kept everyone fuelled.

Thank you to Robin Bookkeeping, our hydration and snack sponsor; those timely carbs and refreshments made a meaningful difference throughout the day.

Thank you to @specialrisk for being our after celebration sponsor.

Thank you to @rarediscgolf @coastmountaindiscdepot @maidenflightdiscdyes for vending and generously providing CTP and longest putt prizes. @raptorsknolldiscgolf and @sportsreplayca also donated some fabulous CTP prizes.

And heartfelt thanks to the fabulous Kevin at @bcengraving for the incredible care and craftsmanship behind all our bag tags, event trophies and series champion trophies. Your talent helped every player feel celebrated, supported, and inspired! Cont’d… ⬇️ taken in Raptors Knoll Disc Golf Park at Jackman Wetlands Park by @pdga_canada

Big things are happening in Memramcook, New Brunswick!

Disque Golf Memramcook has now completed the expansion of its course to a full 18 holes, building upon the original 11-hole layout that opened in 2025. The course is beginner-friendly and offers a challenge to seasoned players with technical holes winding through the Acadian forest, complemented by a variety of open shots and elevation changes.

Memramcook will also be one of the courses featured at the 2027 Canadian National Championships, co-hosted in partnership with Dieppe!

Congratulations to Disque Golf Memramcook on this exciting milestone. PDGA Canada is proud to support this course development project as the area continues to establish itself as a disc golf destination!
