They say communication is key in a long marriage. They lied. 🤫

In Episode 1 of Janet & Steve ("Mindreader"), expecting your spouse to magically read your mind goes exactly as horribly as you’d expect. If you’ve ever had an argument over something never actually said out loud... this one’s for you.

@mydadstapesfilm is engaging, tragic, educational, sincere and at perfect moments funny. It will touch the heart of everyone that sees it.

It's a story that everyone can relate to. A story of the abundance of Love within a family that faces unanswerable questions but learns how to move on many years later.

When @robviscardis told me the story of @kurtis.watson and his Dad and his tapes in 2020 I knew we needed to start making this Film with him and I was incredibly excited to lens it.
Rob and Kurtis sat down together and crafted the outline for what would become this film.

We started filming here and there before blocking out days to do certain sequences and final photography finished in the summer of 2023 with some interviews and recreations. @outsideinside.tv with @robviscardis and his documentary producing and editing skills took over along with an incredible score by @robmcallister.music and we are all incredibly proud of what has come together. 🫀📹

Honored to be nominated for a 2023 Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award in Documentary Short Format for Sikinik Kungattuk - The Smiling Sun filmed in Nain Labrador last summer.

This short doc is about solar energy in remote communities and what it means to those who live there.

Thank you to everyone in Nain for welcoming us!
