I am so excited to announce that My Dad's Tapes will have its world premiere at the Hot Docs International Film Festival this year! What a dream! I am so grateful to our small but mighty team that helped Kurtis and I bring this film to life, and all of those that provided feedback along the way. As a scrappy little shoestring budget arts grant film that has had a LOT of donated time and energy put into it, it seemed so farfetched that we would receive any industry recognition. So, it's pretty amazing to receive this kind of validation through an official selection to one of the highest profile documentary festivals in the world. The film will be playing on May 2nd and May 3rd in Toronto. #mydadstapesfilm #featurefilm #mentalillness #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #stopthestigma #hotdocs2024 #hotdocs #filmfestival #Toronto #tiffbelllightbox #tiff #filmmaker #filmmaking #documentary #documentaryfilm #filmcommunity #screening #cinema #film #officialselection #canadianfilm #canadianfilmmaker #worldpremiere
