New outdoor hobbies + friends when you join @peacenthewild! ✌🏽🌳

An outdoor recreation org dedicated to connecting more Black people to nature through group adventures. We meet about twice a month around Georgia (not limited to Atlanta or Georgia).

We are co-ed and intergenerational, welcoming all ages and genders. We recognize that not everyone can participate in physical outdoor activities, so we also offer accessible and alternative adventures that welcome all skill levels.

We’re an IRL community reconnecting the diaspora to nature through adventure and recreation. Camping, hiking, kayaking, surfing, and so much more. Need to grow your outdoor skills? We also offer hands-on classes like fire-building, firearm safety, and swim lessons too.

The first camping experience finally happened and I’m still in my feelings about it y’all.

We cried, laughed, ate well, and learned new skills together. This trip reminded me that community is no longer an option; it’s a necessity in these wild times. And I’m so grateful for THIS community that shows up, pours in, and holds space offline and in real life.

Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible, including @bomaxranch for opening 53 acres of Black and woman-owned land. A true inspiration. 🏕️ by @peacenthewild

Took a quick 2-hour road trip from ATL to the Ocoee River Corridor and spent the weekend:
 • hiking to waterfalls • ziplining • swimming in the lake • rafting Class III–IV rapids

Three days in Tennessee reminded me that adventure doesn’t always mean catching a flight! 🏞️

Just two hours from Atlanta, the Ocoee River Corridor offered exactly what I needed for a quick getaway. Whitewater rafting, ziplining, waterfall hikes, and space to reset in nature.

Grateful for new outdoorsy friends and the inspiration to keep exploring what’s close to home.
