Any chance to get out on the water, you can bet I’m there. That’s how I found myself kayaking down the Chattahoochee River with @peacenthewild (PITW). This organization prioritizes Black and brown people experiencing the outdoors in a safe and welcoming environment.

We had people join who had never been kayaking before, who didn’t know how to swim, and/or who had never joined a PITW event before. The beautiful thing about community is that everyone was embraced for whatever part of the journey they were on. Tips were shared about calming nerves. Advice was given about navigating the kayaks. And at the end of the day, everyone had a great time!

I’ve been to several PITW events and I’ll keep showing up to more! Make sure you follow them to learn about upcoming events in the metro-Atlanta area and beyond! (They hosted their first international trip recently!)

Today, I was able to identify the final piece to my puzzle: PEACE. 🧩🤍

I’ve realized that I can have everything in the world, but without peace, none of it truly matters.

This year alone has brought me through so much. But the difference between this year and the years before is that I’m choosing to close the chapters that no longer belong in my story. I’m releasing the pain, letting go of what has weighed heavily on my heart, and giving myself permission to finally LIVE and not just exist in my peace.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to @peacenthewild for what today gave me. Today created space for meaningful conversations, challenged me to face some of my fears, filled my heart with genuine joy, and reminded me what peace truly feels like.

I walked into today carrying pieces of my past, but I left with a deeper appreciation for my present and excitement for the person I am becoming.

This journey is teaching me that healing isn’t about forgetting where I’ve been. It’s about no longer allowing where I’ve been to steal the peace from where I’m going.

Today, I chose ME.
Today, I chose HEALING.
Today, I chose PEACE.

And for that, I am beyond grateful.

I MATTER. YOU MATTER. WE MATTER. 💚. I do not own the right to this copyright !#peacenthewild

There’s more to worry about in the great outdoors than bugs!🌲🚨 Today on #Portia, a #LymeDisease warrior, a nature enthusiast, and a medical doctor break down everything you need to know about Lyme disease and tick bites. Tune in to learn about the warning signs to look for and how to prevent infection when you’re in nature this summer! ☀️🥾🦟

White water rafting with @peacenthewild this weekend was the perfect reminder that community heals. Grateful for spaces that bring people together in meaningful ways and even more grateful my bestie @tinidyson was in town to share this experience with me. 💙🌊 #community #whitewaterrafting #adventure #outdoors

Baby!!!! I had a time this past weekend 🙌🏾😝!

I've been itching to go white water rafting for years and I finally did it with @peacenthewild. This was my 2nd excursion with this group and I had the best time.

Initially I sat in the middle then had an opportunity to move up front. I'm glad I did because that's where the party was at 😂!

I didnt take my phone so all pictures were taken by @nantahalaoutdoorcenter.

Highly recommend checking out @peacenthewild if you're looking for an outdoorsy black community. Taylor and crew are absolute treasures💎.

OAN....what else can I check off of my bucket list before 40?!
