We are so happy to present our latest studio project! Please make sure your sound is most definitely turned on... In between client projects, the Buff team wanted to channel their energy into a creative experiment. The aim was to play with perception, specifically how materials, weight and physics can be subverted on screen, while also exploring the contrast between 2D and 3D textures. The project began with the idea of creating a tongue in cheek brand around a simple inanimate object, like a rock. We called it Bounc, a name that gave personality to something so basic and crude. From that starting point, the work evolved into a series of short scenes where flat 2D textures collide with fully rendered 3D objects. By exaggerating weight, flipping expectations and manipulating the rules of physics, we were able to inject humour and surprise into each interaction. The project was conceived and developed by our in-house team, while sound design was crafted by @pelican.sound. We set them the challenge of creating a soundscape that would bring the visuals to life and amplify the playful contradictions of the piece: "The idea was to pair the animation with a playful, fluid sound palette that lets the ears anticipate what’s next while the visuals deliver, together shaping the full vision of Bounc." The mix of instrumentation with moments of restraint heightens the sense of uncertainty and adds another twist to how expectations are challenged. The audio not only reinforces the mood but also enriches the overall experience, making Bounc feel complete and immersive. We collaborated with New York’s @artechouse to create a piece for their Submerge collective—a three-minute experience tailored specifically for their breathtaking 18K resolution screens and spatial audio deployment. This artistic challenge pushed us to explore the limits of scale, detail, and storytelling in ways we never had before. Showing through March, 2025. OFFFMX MAIN TITLES🍿 This year’s @offf_mx Main Titles and Brand Identity were crafted by the amazing team at @hellohornet, with an immersive sound design by @pelican.sound 💙 Directed by @itay_tevel of @hellohornet, the project embraced the creative freedom of OFFF’s blank canvas, serving as a playground for iterative experimentation. It became a unique space to explore the dynamic interplay between 2D and 3D design, as well as the fascinating dance between human creativity and AI technology. The result? Precision begins in quiet, focused moments. For @tomdixonstudio’s SOFT product launch campaign, we designed a soundscape that supports @jformento’s story, where material, process, and control intersect. The soundscape was designed around negative space, allowing motion to dictate direction, where melodic textures sit alongside delicate movements to evoke a sense of craft and elegance. A few sonic updates for @rainbowstudiosgames and their legacy game MX vs ATV. 🕹🏁 Last year, we had the opportunity to reimagine the sonic counterpart behind Rainbow Studios’ game intro sequence, designed to prime every player’s experience and build brand recognition. For nearly four decades, Rainbow has defined the motorsport racing genre in games, pushing boundaries with every release and giving their player community a true voice in shaping what comes next. Their latest chapter as an independent studio marks a new era in that journey. To capture that sense of renewal, we designed a sound that blends engine recordings with mangled vintage synths, echoing the nostalgia of classic console intro sequences, while creating something distinctly new. A sound that signals a new beginning. In addition to the new sonic logo, we collaborated with the team on Season 4 of MX vs ATV: Legends, delivering a custom intro title theme, additional audio implementation, and crafting ambient level soundscapes to enhance their evolving DLC universe. by @pelican.sound

🎌 AKARI: ETERNAL TWILIGHT Akari is an immersive digital art exhibition inspired by Japan, where light, technology, and tradition seamlessly converge. Presented by InSpace @inspace.one in CDMX, it transforms physical spaces into one-of-a-kind experiences curated by international artists. “Eternal Twilight” is the piece I contributed—where Japanese and Mexican culture merge through a lens of melancholic brutalism, technology, and nature, colliding in poetic harmony. 👁️ You can watch the entire piece in the next 3 slides. I’m honoured to share the space with my friends @boldtron and @sixnfive, along with other brilliant artists across the exhibition. The powerful soundscape accompanying the piece was crafted by Pelican Sound @pelican.sound. SOUND ON! ✨ Special thanks to Josué Ibañez @josue_ibanez for the opportunity to showcase this ad-hoc piece, created specifically for the Akari experience.
