Alumni, current students, parents, faculty and friends joined us in the CCB for an afternoon of fall festivities and prizes!

We honored alumna Megan Williams with a recent alumni award.

It was an honor to host alumnus and acclaimed filmmaker DJ Caruso! We presented him with an alumni excellence award — well-deserved!

And it was a pleasure to welcome back faculty emeritus Dr. Don Shores and his wife Kathy Shores — also a beloved former professor!

The Screen Arts program hosted an open house with Dr. Laci Dent talking about her latest feature film “Killa” which is still in production. We can’t wait to see it!

A behind-the-scenes look at FOX 11 Los Angeles! 🎥🎤

Pepperdine journalism students visited the newsroom and station where Professor de los Santos previously worked as a producer.

Hosted by Marla Tellez, LA Press Club’s 2023 Anchor/Host of the Year, students watched Tellez and her producer prepare for and deliver a new live streaming news show.

Students also got to watch “Good Day LA” live from the studio and control room. And a special treat? Meeting legendary rapper Busta Rhymes, who was a guest on the show!

This week, my students learned how to write Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and then presented their work. Sound effects, clever ideas, a little drama… they really brought their scripts to life!

Beyond the assignments, what I love most is getting to work with this next generation of communicators. They’re creative, curious, enthusiastic, and genuinely good at what they do. Watching their confidence grow, seeing their ideas take shape, and knowing they’ll soon be the ones shaping this industry is pretty special.
