POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
@italspirits & @abvventure teams have been working quietly behind the scenes for the past few months… now we can finally share it. 🇮🇹🍸

I’m incredibly proud of our agencies for helping organise @the50bars this week in Milan
For our companies, promoting and exporting Made in Italy to the world has been at the heart of our mission for over a decade.

It’s an opportunity to give something back to an industry that has given us so much — and to welcome the global bar community to Italy, the country that continues to inspire everything we do.

A huge thank you to our team for the hard work and energy behind the scenes.

Proud team. Proud industry. Proudly Italian. 🇮🇹

Scaling a spirits brand looks nothing like the growth chart everyone pitches to investors 📊.

Join us at Bar Convent Berlin on Monday, October 12, at 4:00 pm, where industry leaders each take the stage for a focused presentation on one high-impact growth strategy: how to structure a business as it outgrows its founding team, what it actually takes to keep distributor and account relationships working as volume increases, the capital and operational decisions that separate a good year from sustainable growth, and how to protect a brand's identity while scaling it.

Featured speakers include:

🎤 Karen Xiang, Investment Lead, BTomorrow Ventures
🎤 Elwyn Gladstone, Owner, Biggar & Leith
🎤 Giuseppe Gallo, Founder & CEO, Italspirits
🎤 Vincent Hanna, CEO & Co-Founder, Brother's Bond Distilling Company

Stay tuned for additional speakers and session details 📌

The mistakes I wouldn’t make twice.
Experience doesn’t stop you from making mistakes. It teaches you not to make the same ones twice. As I build @savoia.aperitivo these are the lessons I carry with me after building ITALICUS:
1. Distribution isn’t success.
Signing a distributor and entering a new market isn’t the same as building one.
Presence means very little without depletions.

2. Don’t say yes to everything.
Another event. Another flavour. Another partnership. Every yes costs money, time and focus.
Focus is a growth strategy.

3. More people don’t automatically mean more growth.
Hire with purpose. Every person should know why they are there and what they contribute.
Build the team the business needs.

4. Never underestimate cash.
Revenue looks good on a presentation. Cash keeps the business alive.
Watch margins, cash flow and the real cost of growth.
Not all growth is good growth.

5. Listen — but don’t follow every opinion.
Customers, bartenders, distributors, friends: everyone will have an opinion.
A founder must know what makes the original idea stronger—and what dilutes it.
Stick with your vision.

6. Have the difficult conversations early.
With partners, employees, distributors, investors.
Tough conversations are for strong people.
Be respectful. Be clear. Move forward.

7. Don’t compare your journey with someone else’s.
“Overnight success” rarely happens overnight. Because you don’t see the investment, mistakes, relationships and years behind the headlines.
Don’t try to look successful. Build something valuable.

8. What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow.
Markets change. Consumers change. Culture changes.
Experience is powerful — but it can also make you overconfident.
SAVOIA APERITIVO carries everything ITALICUS taught me, but the goal isn’t to build the same brand again.
It’s to use 10 years of experience to make different mistakes this time.
That’s entrepreneurship. That’s the life of a founder.

A full-circle moment.
Ten years ago, on 1 September 2016, we launched ITALICUS at @thesavoylondon in London.
A decade later, we returned to The Savoy for the Art of ITALICUS Final.

A huge thank you to the @italspirits and @abvventure team for delivering such an incredible event.

What makes me most proud is that many on this team have been with me for almost every step of the journey. Some were there 10 years ago, some even before, and others joined along the way.
For a founder, seeing people stay, grow and continue to believe in the journey is perhaps the greatest achievement of all.

Brands may start with an idea, but people build them with emotion and commitment.
Ten years later, back where it all started. Grazie, team. Salute 🇮🇹🍸

10 things I learned in 10 years building ITALICUS:

1. Believe in your vision when others don’t...
Don't blindly follow industry dogma. Trust your instincts, hunt your own luck and stick to your plan.

2. Success attracts people — but not everyone deserves a piece of it.
Know who genuinely contributed and protect what you created. As #michaeljordan23🏀 once said:
“They can feel it, but they'll never fill it or deserve it.”

3. Hire a good lawyer and accountant. Early.
Understand your numbers and protect your business. When you're dealing with large corporations, investors, distributors and different countries, good legal advice is essential.

4. Everyone sees the success. Few see the sacrifice.
Behind the awards, travel and celebrations are years of time, money, pressure and personal sacrifice. Decide what you're prepared to give up — and keep going.

5. The on-trade can build what advertising cannot buy. Brand are build within on trade; cases are sold in the off-trade.

6. Distribution is not demand.
Being in 40 markets means little if the product isn't moving. Focus on rotation, then depletion. Volume will follow.

7. Profitability gives you choices. Awards don't.
Awards and press are great. Revenue and growth are essential. Never confuse industry recognition with business success. Manage your ego.

8. What gets you from 0 to 5 won't necessarily get you from 5 to 50.
Founders thrive on vision, instinct and energy. Scaling requires systems, structure and management.

9. Choose partners for the difficult days.
Partnerships are easy when everything is growing. You discover the real quality of investors, distributors and partners when things go wrong. Tough conversations are for strong people. Don’t avoid them — they’re often where the most important decisions are made.

10. Know when your job is done.
Ask yourself: “Is there anything else I can achieve here?”
Build something valuable enough that others want to invest in its future — and know when it's time to build something new.

10 years. Thousands of lessons. Plenty of mistakes. No regrets. 🇮🇹🥂

Summer 2026 is coming to an end. 🇮🇹☀️

After an incredibly intense year, it was good to slow down, disconnect and enjoy the simple things of life— long lunches, beautiful sunsets, great food and wine, and time with the people who matter most.

And there are few places that remind me of the beauty of life quite like the Amalfi Coast and Southern Italy. The sea, the colours, the food, the people and some of the most extraordinary landscapes in the world.

Sometimes the best inspiration comes when you stop looking for it.

Grateful for this summer, the memories we created, and the energy to start a new chapter.

Arrivederci, Summer 2026. ❤️🇮🇹

Distinctive packaging creates memory!
I have always believed packaging isn’t decoration 🔛 It’s communication.

In a world where consumers see thousands of messages every day, being remembered is increasingly valuable.

I’ve always wanted the brands I create to feel unmistakably Italian without relying on clichés:

- Colour
- Shape
- Glass
- Texture
- Typography
- Weight.

With @casa.savoia Aperitivo, the ambition was never simply to create a beautiful bottle. The packaging needed to communicate Italy, craftsmanship and contemporary luxury: encapsulating italian art and poetry in liquid form.

I applied the same philosophy when creating ITALICUS 🇮🇹🍸

ITALICUS had to introduce a largely unknown category to a new generation of drinkers.

In premium spirits, packaging is not the final stage of product development. It is part of the product itself.

Great packaging creates curiosity before the first sip, recognition from across the room and, over time, an identity people remember.

The liquid has to deliver on the promise.

But the bottle is often what makes people discover that promise in the first place.

Why founders need to become storytellers?

A founder’s first job isn’t selling. It’s making people believe.

When I started ITALICUS, I wasn’t simply launching another bottle. I was trying to bring back the Rosolio — unknown to the masses and largely forgotten Italian category — back into contemporary cocktail culture.
Today, with #SAVOIA #vermouth, the challenge is similar: taking Italian heritage, culture and history and translating them into something exciting for a new generations.
1. That requires more than a great liquid.
2. You need to explain where the brand comes from, why it matters, and why people should care.
3. Investors need to understand the vision.
4. Distributors need to believe in the opportunity.
5. Bartenders need a reason to recommend you.
6. Consumers need something worth remembering.

The product gives you credibility. The story gives people a reason to care.

After building ITALICUS and now @casa.savoia vino aperitivo , I believe the best brand stories aren’t artificially created by marketing departments — they come from understanding exactly why your brand deserves to exist, and from the genuine emotion and connection it creates with consumers. Salute!
