SIZZLING JAPANESE CURRY & PEPPER RICE 🔥🍛

📍 Pepper Lunch (Pepper Lunch Doncaster)

If you’re looking for something a little different for your next meal, Pepper Lunch is all about serving your food sizzling hot so you can mix everything together right at the table.

They’ve also recently launched their new Mapo Tofu range. I was originally invited in to give it a try, but as I don’t eat beef I went with a few other options from the menu instead.

Items tried:
🍛 Curry Chicken Pepper Rice
🍗 Chicken Katsu Sizzling Curry
🧅 Onion Rings
🍠 Sweet Potato Fries
🍵 Matcha & Red Bean Ice Cream

The Curry Chicken Pepper Rice had a really nice kick to it. Once everything was mixed together, you got the chunky chicken, tofu and onions throughout, with that signature Pepper Lunch sizzle bringing everything together.

My favourite though was definitely the Chicken Katsu Sizzling Curry. The curry was rich and full of flavour, while the katsu had a nice crispy crumb that worked really well with it. This is the one I’d be coming back for!

We also tried the onion rings and sweet potato fries, which were both solid sides to have alongside the mains.

And to finish, the Matcha & Red Bean Ice Cream was a nice surprise — the matcha and sweetness from the red bean ice cream complemented each other really well.

If you’re a fan of Japanese curry and sizzling plates, Pepper Lunch is definitely worth adding to the list. 🔥

🥩 Wagyu Porterhouse — SO tender and buttery, it literally melts in your mouth. 🤤

🥘 Sukiyaki Beef — tender beef in a rich, savoury-sweet sauce with veggies, cheese & mushrooms. That combo is 🔥🧀🍄

🌶️ Mapo Tofu Hamburg — spicy, savoury & slightly numbing with silky tofu, paired with a seriously flavourful hamburg patty. Such a unique and satisfying combo! 🤌🏼 you can choose your spice level too!

And can we talk about the menu variety?! 👀

We never knew Pepper Lunch had steaks, Japanese classics, udon AND even pasta like carbonara! 🍝🥩🍜

Basically… whatever you’re craving, there’s probably a sizzling plate for it. 🔥

Tried the new Mapo Tofu range at Pepper Lunch and it was honestly sooo good🙋🏻‍♀️definitely one of those meals you can’t go wrong with!! And for the price, it’s such an easy, affordable option when you’re craving something hearty and satisfying!🫶🏻
