Dear friends, your favourite friend THE GOLDFISH BLEEDING is back!
Now housed at @ccamstel, the piece will return yearly over the next four years, bringing shocking statements, evil characters and amazing performers doing freestyle dance Lucha Libre for you. 🤼‍♀️🔥

This year’s edition takes its title from a phrase by legendary Brazilian rapper KLJAY, who reminded us back in the 1990s that there is no utopia when you live on your dominat0r’s land.

Its motto is inspired by the Latin American wrestling form Lucha Libre, in which social characters enact current social conflicts, opening spaces for grief, anger, comedy and dreams for the future.

Since 2013, Peppermetz has been dabbling just outside the Venn diagrams of conformity. Inspired by rebellious subcultures, protest movements but also with influences from their background in micro-, myco-, and marine biology, Peppermetz creates unexpected looks from upcycled materials, while challenging the viewer with swaying and writhing knots of limbs in the pole. Inviting you to hold those expectations of beauty and gender up to the light, are you open to something that rubs you the wrong way?" Pic @jitskenap

I animated a still image of the fab @peppermetz backstage for @ninjin at @amsterdamopenair into a short video.

While working on my print sale, I’ve been revisiting my archive with new eyes.

The images feel different now, not just what they show, but everything they carry. I keep coming back to them, experimenting, seeing how they can evolve again. by @peppermetz

GROOVE BODY GLITCH explores the body as an instrument of transformation. A body that listens, breathes, and trembles — not closed, but porous. Hand-blown crown-glass plates, fragile and sonically unstable, form a queer materiality where vulnerability and resistance merge.
Unpredictable soundscapes emerge and ripple through the body, while glitches — cracks, hesitations, distortions — open new possibilities.
A temporary ecology where movement, glass, and sound touch and re-form one another. Here, listening becomes an act of attunement, care, and transformation.
