💖 Meet the Artists of FORTRESS 💖

@kate.csillagi, Kate Csillagi, is an interdisciplinary Austin artist whose practice grew out of zines, punk flyers, and album art and now spans murals and immersive installations. Her work summons guardian figures and personal mythologies, creating spaces where the surreal and the sacred coexist.

@hope_hummingbird, Hope Hummingbird, is a ceramic artist and educator based in Austin, Texas. Her fine art practice centers on porcelain portraiture, often depicting fellow local artists and feminist icons throughout history.

@peptalks, Lauren Napolitano, is a self-taught contemporary folk artist based in Austin who works in ceramics, painting, murals, and tattooing, drawing inspiration from her Mexican ancestry and travels. taken in Almost Real Things by @peptalks

:::Keychains are on the site:::
I’m packing them all up tomorrow, sorry for the delay, this Virgo has been having a rough season. I appreciate being brought back to center + reminded by how abundant my life really is, but for real fuck billionaires and whatever form of capitalism we are in. 🦋 (( thanks for making these @katiecowden )) by @peptalks

Made for a sweetie couple at the most wonderful @sweetspirittattoo

Not intentionally connected tattoos, but they compliment each other well.

I always return from my trips back to the bay feeling so grateful for my creative journey. 13 years of being supported by so many wonderful clients and peers…and it all started there.

Back in Austin and booking for all the things! Just sent out my first big email newsletter, please let me know if you didn’t receive one and would like to. I am typically replying to emails within 3-5ish days…please hang tight if you don’t immediately hear from me.

Life is happening for all of us, let’s all be kind and patient with each other.✨ taken in Nevada City, California by @peptalks

Grateful to share this work from back in March. I honestly wasn’t entirely sure the exact details of how I was going to pull off painting a perfectly symmetrical 14’ wide radial pattern on a concave ceiling, but there is also a part of me that understands some free radical part of my brain is meant to do exactly this.

The moment my mind would wander beyond the present moment, the quality of my work and spirit instantly lacked. I couldn’t think about how many more layers or lines remained…about my silly dramas or narratives…this project rooted me in my present. A space solely in devotion to beauty; a forced, yet welcome clarity.

Many thanks to Keli of @cocollect.art for bringing me onto this project and being so supportive along the way.
You can see this + two steel pieces of mine in the lobby of the ProCore tower:
