perediza marks its fifth issue, The Garden Issue, with an intimate launch at The Roof Gardens (@theroofgardens), produced in collaboration with Bee:wild (@beewild.campaign).

perediza (@perediza) Founder and Editor-in-Chief Aryana Arian (@aryanaarian) will be joined by Bee:wild (@beewild.campaign) Director of Partnerships Liam Osbourne and landscape architect Randle Siddeley (@randlesiddeley), exploring the cultural and social significance of gardens, their meaning, memory and connection to the natural world.

Created around the garden as both a physical and intellectual space, Issue V moves between the familiar and unfamiliar, exploring cultivation, growth and sustenance alongside climate, craft, heritage, identity and grief.

Guests will walk through a curated ‘garden of contents’, eighteen species of plants representing the issue’s eighteen articles, before an evening of music by Ilhame Mae (@eeellhamae), conversation and curated cocktails from X MUSE (@tenthmusevodka) and CLUBMERA (@clubmera).

This event is by invitation only.

The issue will launch on 11 October 2026.

Thank you to the 250+ faces who joined us at Shreeji @shreejinews for our celebration of philosophy and intellectual thought.

Issue IV, The Burgundy Issue is now live: our most substantial edition yet, printed locally in London. Across its pages we consider Machiavelli’s balance of love and fear, the nostalgia of 1970s dining, and the provocations of utopian thought. We explore nature as an actor in history, the visibility of environmental collapse, the pressures of individuality and appearances, and whether sustainability belongs to materials or to systems. Each piece invites readers to reflect critically on the world we share.

Now available for purchase through our online shop (link in bio).

This issue would not exist without the brilliance of our contributors, whose work has shaped every page:

Vérité comes from Vertov’s Kino-Pravda, “film truth”. Fashion Vérité keeps the phrase literal: a perediza photographer’s record of London Fashion Week, shot on film.

What if the thing stopping you from sharing your work isn’t perfectionism, but ego? Erica Zheng traces the fear that keeps so many creatives archiving their best work instead of posting it — and what it actually takes to let go.

When does shock lack critical substance, and when does fashion criticism become something of value and meaning?

Victor Barragán, the designer behind the brand Barragán staged his comeback show at the Mexican Embassy in Berlin during Berlin fashion week — bruised bodies, “meth” prints, models moving like they’d just crossed a border. Writer and critic, Liza Ivanchak, asks whether that’s critique, or just shock dressed up as one.

What exactly are the elements that facilitate dialogue and deep conversation? Is it the topic at hand in itself? Or do candlelight, the wine selection, and ambiance play a part?

Back in April, we had the distinct pleasure of mixing the former and the latter on an evening of learning, art, philosophy, and discussion co-hosted with Frieze Connect @friezeconnect at Shoreditch Art Club @shoreditchartsclub_

This was the crowd converging and discussing the philosophy of art prior to a lecture at our “Philosophy Edit,” captured beautifully through the eye and lens of @chieh_lin_wu

The perediza team went dining but with a twist. We wanted to see which space was ideal not just for food but for philosophising.

Food was never just about sustenance, as Anthony Bourdain put it, food, culture, people and landscape are all absolutely inseparable.

Some rooms hold a conversation well, others just hold the food. We found the difference, and wrote it down.

Three spots, three moods. Auguste (@auguste__london), unpretentious and warm, the kind of place that feels like it has always been there. Cafe Kowloon (@cafe.kowloon), neon lit and alive, food and music moving at the same restless pace. Dotori (@dotori_london), quiet and familiar, the sort of place you return to simply because you know it will be good.

We’ll be sharing more of our recommendations too. Read the full article on perediza.com, link in bio. by @perediza

Edward Hopper never saw success in his lifetime. Riley Ajay Miszkurka-Morrison looks at Nighthawks — and asks what it actually costs to make art you believe in when no one’s watching yet.

The influence of George E. Moore’s experiential philosophy of colour on Woolf’s writing can be seen most clearly in her short story, ‘Blue & Green’, published in 1921. ‘Short story’ is perhaps an imprecise description—each vignette takes up less than a page. In a few lines of text, they slide quickly from the colour they denote, or even objects that share the shade, to a scene of tangentially associated forms—‘the snub-nosed monster rises to the surface and spouts through his blunt nostrils two columns of water...

Obsession cost $750,000 to make yet went on to gross $400 million globally. What does that kind of success say about what audiences now consider worth watching?

In an era where we are often told that attention spans are shrinking and movie theatres are fading, films like Backrooms and Obsession suggest something else entirely. That people are still willing to gather, watch, and engage when the story feels original, emotionally resonant, and culturally present.

Through the lens of Zygmunt Bauman’s idea of liquid modernity, they reflect a generation living amid instability, uncertainty, and emotional flux. Because what brings viewers back to the cinema is not nostalgia alone, but the rare feeling that a film understands the world they are living in.

«The word community is being overused to the point of becoming meaningless.»

Said Farsin Rabiee, founder and chef behind Iranian-Iraqi bistro Logma (@logmaldn) with his partner Ziad Halub, on their cuisine, intimate space and soul.

When visiting Logma, we felt as though we entered an authentic space with homemade Middle Eastern cuisine that uses the richness of Iraqi and Iranian taste and flavour in new ways, following seasonal behaviours and inviting local UK resources into the plates in front of us, all held together by a warmth and hospitality that felt entirely genuine.

Ziad and Farsin’s work goes against the grain of what to expect with Middle Eastern food ventures, removing the performance of what is and isn’t supposed to ‘fit’ the category and creating something honest and real out of that, in the heart of Hackney.

We discussed philosophy, human labour, agriculture, cultural exchange and simply what Logma means, metaphorically and literally, with its founders.
