“I am lost…” Lost in the music. This is my art.

🎥 8K finals posing routine. by @perfectposing

From sunrise to sunset, I’ve been giving this my all. 6 weeks out, busting my ass every day to bring my best package to the stage. Coach @christuttle.rd is leading the way, I’m just trusting….listening, and doing the work. by @perfectposing

The art of posing is my passion.
And passion is what I’m all about.

My Classic Physique finals routine. I thought I only got one routine, even though I competed in two divisions. Lo and behold, I found out at check ins Friday night that I could do both. Obviously, I wasn’t going to miss another chance to perform.

I hadn’t prepared a second routine, so I put this together that night, revisiting one I did years ago while practicing my spontaneous posing. A little rough around the edges, but getting the crowd to clap and enjoy the performance is what I strive for. by @perfectposing

Quarter turns & mandatory poses will ALWAYS be the foundation of competitive bodybuilding posing. After 17 years as a posing coach, that’s the FIRST thing I emphasize to every athlete. I love the artistry and flow of posing routines, but mastering what matters during judging always comes first. A routine should be developed together after understanding your physique, strengths, weaknesses, and presentation, not simply choreographed without knowing the athlete.

Here are a few shots of me going through my quarter turns & mandatory poses in Open Bodybuilding. As a lightweight standing alongside bigger middleweights, I was the smallest guy up there, but I knew how to maximize my strengths, minimize my weaknesses, and pose in a way that allowed me to remain competitive.

And just like that, months of hard work came together onstage. Yesterday, my @_shadow_1one prep and posing athletes, @joshstewartofficial and @mario.c.fit competed at @musclecontest West Coast Naturals & Border States. Congratulations to both of my boys for giving it their all and bringing amazing physiques, presentation, and performances. It’s moments like these that remind me how much I love my job and how blessed I am to do what I do. Proud of you both!

Posing with the boys! You already know Coach had to get in on it

First up, natural @_shadow_1one men’s physique prep athletes @joshstewartofficial making his NPC debut! Josh & I originally worked together on his posing for his first competition on the OCB. He and his previous coach killed that debut, and afterward, he asked me whether I thought he could compete and do well in the NPC. I told him Absolutely! Not just because of his physique and genetics, but because I’d already seen his work ethic firsthand during our posing sessions.

We started working together in March, spending 3 months slowly building and learning his body before beginning a 20-week prep in June. I told him from the start that we were taking our time. With him being a natural athlete, I wanted us to be strategic with our adjustments and give him the time he needed to bring his best. Yesterday, that work paid off with two first places and a second place!

We entered both West Coast Naturals, the tested show, and Border States, the non-tested show. We wanted to challenge him, and I knew he could hold his own with the big boys. You trusted me and put in the work, brother. Proud of you and everything we accomplished together. What a way to make your NPC debut!

Getting @joshstewartofficial pumped up and going over those final posing details before hitting the stage.

@joshstewartofficial individual men’s physique prejudging routine at Border States. Time to show what we’ve been working on!

Josh in men’s physique true novice comparisons at West Coast Naturals. His first NPC show, but he came ready!

@joshstewartofficial back out for men’s physique open Class D comparisons at West Coast Naturals.

Taking on the non-tested show, too! @jos by @perfectposing

25+ weeks have passed since reaching out to my Coach @mrcshadows to Coach me for my second run on the bodybuilding stage. From day 1 we set the expectation to WIN. Not participate only. To also showcase what can happen when you pair discipline with a high level of guidance + attention to detail. What we achieved in our first run in the NPC as a NATURAL athlete is a lifetime of memories, trust, a coach/athlete relationship that only develops from here. I couldn’t be more excited about how this prep went from start to finish. We did everything we said AND MORE. Thank you Coach for believing in me as a natural to compete in both the natural portion and the non tested as well. I guess 2 FIRST place finishes and a second will do in our first run together. Also with winning in my class I qualified to compete in national level shows going forward. I am very grateful to represent the natural division and thankful for the opportunity to step on stage and represent the mens physique division as well. Thank you @musclecontest for an amazing show!

Secondly I want to dedicate this entire prep to an extremely close family member who passed away at the very end of 2024 (Aunt May) and also dedicate this to her husband my Uncle Jim Arrington (worlds oldest bodybuilder). The motivation behind this prep and a family member who herself set a standard of winning and a competitive fire and discipline in her respective sport. She was married to her husband Uncle Jim who is the only other member in our family who stepped on a bodybuilding stage for MANY years and competed at the highest level. Seeing his collection of first place finishes and trophies to now be the one competing and setting a winning standard I am happy to say we got our first 1st place finish x2 and more to come in the NPC. Love and miss you Auntie May this is definitely for you ❤️🕊️

Everything I couldn’t put into words, I put into this. by @perfectposing

This one was hard for me to open up about, but I wanted to keep it real with you guys. Where my head’s been, what this comeback meant to me, and what’s next. Got a big announcement in here too… hear me out till the end. by @perfectposing

Finally got the professional videos & pictures! Time to flood your feed, lol. But no, for real, stepping back onstage after 10 years was unforgettable. Having my friends, athletes, family, colleagues, and the MuscleContest family there supporting me meant everything. Forever grateful.

Let’s start with the bodybuilding overall comparisons. Even if I got here by default, lol, I still got to share the stage with two amazing athletes. Posing is my passion. It’s an art, and I hope you could see how much it meant to me and how much time and effort I put into it. More from this weekend to come! by @perfectposing

Bodybuilding is a lifestyle. Competing is a luxury. The post show blues still hit, but I didn’t come back after 10 years just to stop loving what I do.

Might still have a little unfinished business…

How’s everyone feeling after their show and have stepped of that stage? by @perfectposing

17 years teaching the art of posing.… and somehow, after all these years, I’m still a student of it.

Posing is an art. The body is the canvas, the muscles are the paint, the music is the emotion & every movement is a brushstroke. Together…they tell a story that words never could.

This is more than bodybuilding to me. It’s a part of who I am. by @perfectposing
