added some new letters after my name 😤 can’t even believe i’m really typing this but i’m officially a certified nurse midwife 😭 this has been the hardest, loneliest, longest, stress inducing time in my entire life. So many moments i literally thought i wanted to quit or thought i couldn’t do it anymore. so thankful to everyone who stuck beside me and encouraged me to keep going. it all started in an NYU dorm, watching the Business of Being Born (thanks @rickilake ) and deciding to change my entire life plan and i’m so so happy i did it ❣️ only up from here! by @perinatalnyc

ahhhh class number 2! So so so excited to teach this because being in community with queer folks is where I’m the happiest 🥰 tell a friend to tell a friend to come to queer childbirth ed! This course is specifically for LGBTQ folks that want a community - centered childbirth ed space. This course adds onto our Birth Basics Course by talking about things like navigating hospital spaces, inducing lactation for non-gestational parents and surrogacy support. Once again times are in EST and course is offered on a sliding scale basis. 2020 offerings on Nov 6 & 7 and Dec 4 & 5! Come virtually learn with me! by @perinatalnyc

I’m so happy to announce the first of my two new childbirth education courses is launching at the end of October! This all inclusive course is designed to provide easy to understand information to expecting parents that are on their pregnancy journey. I recorded this when I was (obviously) still a nurse but wow does it still ring true today! When we ask the question "why did they come to the hospital if they didnt want any interventions?" we're insinuating that hospital care means a lack of autonomy. Having a hospital birth still makes you an autonomous human being! Not to mention the fact that homebirth is not always accessible for all those that desire low risk/low intervention. It's time we reexamine our language and unpack the way we think and speak about our patients #laboranddelivery #midwife #homebirth #labor #birth by @perinatalnyc

birth is messy! so many people are afraid of vomitting or poop or other bodily fluids, but so much of that is unavoidable! the sooner we let go of our fear to make a mess the better. lean into the mess! #birth #laboranddelivery #midwife by @perinatalnyc

I spent so much time arguing about homebirth on TikTok yall! The thing I say most - both online and offline - is that we cannot use our experience as hospital based medical professionals to pass judgement on homebirth. Imagine if you were constantly judged by your worst outcomes? Homebirth is a personal choice and we should be using data and shared decision making when helping people make that choice. #homebirth #midwife #obgyn by @perinatalnyc
