Gala Hills, MA Painting, Slade School of Fine Art, weaves her research-led imagination into a practice shaped by rural Dartmoor’s myth-laden landscapes. Rooted in stories of stones, storms and shape-shifters, her work drifts between disciplines with the same freedom she was raised in, home educated, always moving, always learning, blending history, geology, folklore and the uncanny into quietly animistic worlds.

We are delighted to announce that Daa Art Gallery is evolving into PERSE London.

Perse carries three layers of meaning:
– the first capital of art, culture and luxury; Persepolis in ancient Persia where art, craftsmanship, and philosophy converged.
– in Greek mythology, Perse (Πέρση) symbolises transformation and renewal.
– and as a colour, perse evokes the deep twilight tone between violet and dusk. The meeting of endings and beginnings.

Building on our last two House Visit series, Perse London marks a new chapter: presenting exclusive solo exhibitions by emerging artists, held by appointment only at our flat in Mayfair.

A more personal, focused, and intimate continuation of what we began. A space dedicated to discovery, dialogue, and contemporary art in its most considered form.

@artist_aoibhin, an incredible artist born in Belfast and based in London, whose work is all about layers upon layers of colourful escapism. I had the absolute joy of visiting this beautiful studio on a bright, cold Monday morning, and the moment I stepped inside, I was transported. The space was flooded with natural light, bouncing off vibrant canvases that felt like windows into other worlds.

@artist_aoibhin work captures the feeling of escapism, whether through abstract forms, bold colour explorations, or pieces that evoke a sense of place without being literal. Each painting is a happy place, a moment of freedom and reflection that invites you to pause and lose yourself. Now, Aoibhin is delving deeper, constantly evolving, and creating work that speaks to something far beyond what’s on the surface!

Aoibhin's art isn’t just about what you see, it’s about what you feel. Every piece acts as a conduit for emotion, pulling you in with vibrant colours and rich textures that you can practically touch.
