After the April 8, 2026 strikes, a “coup attempt” narrative circulated across Lebanese media through voice notes, social media posts, and references to unnamed “security sources.”

Key elements remained unverified. The Zoom claim lacked evidence and contradicted known practices, no Israeli source confirmed it, no “Channel 24” report was found, and no operational coup plan was established.

The narrative nevertheless spread and entered public discourse without verification.

Nabi Sheet is a clear example of an information cascade in wartime.
During the March 6-7 operation, unverified claims spread across Telegram and WhatsApp through repetition and circular sourcing. In the absence of verified information, those claims quickly began to look like facts. The case shows how false certainty can form online during moments of war.

How an edited comedy clip turned into a national outrage, and what it reveals about Lebanon’s digital and political landscape.
The analysis tracks how influencers, platforms, political parties, and institutions shaped the narrative, from Instagram to X, WhatsApp, and mainstream media.
This was not a debate over a joke.
It was a case study in how outrage is built, framed, and weaponized.

In this episode, I sit down with Makram Aboul Hosn, one of Lebanon’s most respected double bass players and a cornerstone of the country’s contemporary jazz, fusion, and indie scenes. Known for his unmistakable groove, versatility, and years of collaboration with top Lebanese artists, Makram has helped shape the sound of live music in Beirut.

He has performed on some of Lebanon’s biggest cultural stages including Baalbeck, Beiteddine, and many more, with performances extending across Europe, the Middle East, and the US.

Makram has released two albums, Parallel and Transmigration, the latter recorded just days after the Beirut Port explosion and later listed among All About Jazz’s Top 10 Albums of 2021. His single “Street Window” has passed 2 million views on YouTube.
He holds a Master’s in Jazz from the Prins Claus Conservatorium (Netherlands), teaches Film Music at NDU, Double Bass at USEK, is a faculty member at Metro Academy, and runs Makram’s Blog, where he writes about music and community.
This episode dives into Makram’s story, his approach to sound, his journey through Lebanon’s evolving music ecosystem, and the role of the double bass in shaping who he is both as a musician and a human being.

Makram is also one of the most humble and grounded artists I’ve ever spoken with.
Enjoy this almost spiritual conversation we had.

Adel Minkara, the jazz guitarist who played alongside the legend Ziad Rahbani takes us through this musical bridge from Lebanon to Brazil.
He explains how Bossa Nova was born, how Samba evolved, and how these sounds eventually found their way into our own music scene.

With years next to Arthur Satyan, and Ziad, the pioneer who brought Brazilian influences into Lebanese music, Adel shares intimate, funny, and moving stories from that era, the ones you never get to hear.

This is The Brazilian Connection, the Lebanese-South American story shaped by more than 8 million Lebanese and Lebanese-descendants living in Brazil.

Bossa Nova… but in a Lebanese accent.
