I had the privilege to work with the best team on this short film for @nyghfoundation & @northyorkgeneral . Director @jacksontisi is a genius - thank you for believing in me and allowing me a safe space. The support I had on set was so beautiful and I have so many fond memories. So grateful to have been part of this meaningful cause! SNIP SNAP SNIP SNAP 💙 🙏🏽

A lot of blessings to be thankful for lately. I’ll highlight this one; being able to watch a FIFA World Cup match live with @johngaras was a literal dream come true. Forever grateful to the many people who made this possible and special. And special is the right word, what an unforgettable, special experience. Pops was with us, smiling down. I know all the good stuff lately have been him pulling the strings and putting in a good word for us with the big guy. Thank you. For everything.

No such thing as a life that’s better than yours 🙏🏽

My Reason Why:

My father taught me everything I know. So many of the things I love about myself and people were things he demonstrated to me. Love, friendship, commitment, community, greatness, perseverance.

I like to make people laugh, because my dad was hilarious. I believe kindness is the most powerful force, driven by love… I learned this because my dad was benevolent. I am smart, because my father was a genius. I am strong because my father was a warrior. I work hard because my father was unequivocally disciplined. I could go on and on, but it’s easier to just emphasize again that my dad was the best of us.

He taught me to be humble in the ups. To be graceful in the downs. To unashamedly stand up for what I believe. To be compassionate and just. To be understanding and steadfast. To slow down and laugh, not to take everything seriously. He gave me so much advice. If you know me, you’ve heard many of his sage words already, wisdom for navigating life.

Everyday I wake up, I’m reminded of the beautiful life this incredible man gave me. Today, I have been living this life for 34 years. 34 years filled with ups and downs. 34 years overflowing with love. Everything I do, he is the driving force. The wind beneath my wings. Every dream I have is rooted in this exceptional human.

That’s why I go by Peter NASH GARAS, so that he may be honoured in everything I am. And for that reason, I will always strive to be better than the Peter of yesterday, forever in pursuit of my hero.

Dear Baba,

It’s been a month. Time has behaved so strangely, it’s felt like an eternity and at the same time feels just like yesterday. While my heart is heavy, my spirit has never been fuller.

I miss you beyond measure.
I miss the excitement you added to life, the joy and humour you brought me everyday, the sound of your laugh and voice, the love and care I felt from you constantly. I miss you all the time, like on my drives home when you’d call, or when I want your opinion (which feels like all the time), or when I have good news or any news at all… I miss your physical presence. These days, I find the sunlight and sit in it, and that’s one of the places I find you.

At the same time, I have felt you with me in profound ways. When seeking the resolve to keep going, it is still you who picks me up and pushes me forward. In moments where my strength is required, I am indeed strong and I know it’s because of you. In the quiet moments I’m alone with my sorrow, I feel your presence comforting me. I feel your smile when I win. I see you in everything, everywhere. I carry you with me, all the time, into every room I enter.

I love talking about you. I love talking to you. I love remembering you, in the monumental things and in all the little things too. I even love carrying this grief, for it is the substance of all the love I have for you. My hero, my mentor…The hole you left is massive, but the love you gave is even greater.
I love you so much, dad.

I’m lost and I’m still learning to navigate this life without you, but I am your son and you prepared me to continue your legacy. Thank you for giving me everything, I will do my best to continue to make you proud. by @petergaras

LA, Part 1

It doesn’t feel crazy to say your dreams out loud in LA, especially not at the wishing tree, which by the way was a treacherous hike with signs warning of snakes, but trust me the view is worth it. Peaceful

LA is beautiful, the people, the places, but also the energy - I fell in love the first time I ever stepped off the plane in 2023 and, this time, greeted the City of Angels like an old friend. Instantly, I felt reenergized and had many moments reflecting on the journey since the last time I was there. So much has changed… by @petergaras

I was just happy to be there.

My phone reminded me today that I was on set for the first time 4 years ago. It feels like a lot longer than that but also like it was just yesterday. So much has changed, I’ve grown so much, learned so much, met so many amazing people. Ups, downs, and a whole lot of memories. I think that the guy who started this journey 4 years ago would’ve been proud of where I am today, which sometimes doesn’t feel that much further and other times, like now, feels insane to think about.

I’m just happy to be here.

I’m reminded of my first ever acting gig, pictured above - I was something like 13 years old and playing the role of Huckleberry Finn on stage. It changed my life. Not only did I fall in love with acting, but it taught a shy kid how to cope. To come out of his shell sometimes. That he loved to make people laugh. I’d like to think that kid would’ve been proud too, that he would’ve found peace knowing we started chasing the dream. That it saved us again.

It’s kind of crazy to think of how things unfolded, but what I know is God is good, and I’m abundantly grateful for every opportunity I have to do what I love. For all the people who love me and support me and push me forward. For making me feel like my wild dreams aren’t so wild after all. Anyway, keep working hard, and as always, if you can dream it, you can do it. I can’t wait to continue this journey…

I’m just happy to be there.
