From the first cut in the vineyard to the last cluster across the sorting table, harvest is a collective endeavor.

To every member of our vineyard and winery teams, thank you. The harvest ends. The vintage begins. by @petermichaelwinery

The 2026 growing season began early but has remained remarkably cool, a rare combination that has shaped this vintage in unique ways.

While yields are lower this year, the quality of the fruit harvested so far has been exceptional.

Located in the heart of the Oakville AVA's famed red dirt in Napa Valley, 'Au Paradis' is exactly where it's name translates, "In Heaven." Planted in the foothills on the east side of the valley on a raised, gently sloping plateau, the Bordeaux varietals develop into a classic style with silky tannins and deep red fruit. by @petermichaelwinery

For 35 years, Javier Aviña has quietly guided the growth of Peter Michael Winery—from the original 12 acres in Knights Valley to our three mountain estates today. His leadership reflects the long view we hold for our land and our wines. by @petermichaelwinery

"She (Lady M)loves everything about this special place, as does everyone who sets eyes upon it. To me, it was a substrate, one that I could embed my ideas onto. Although I didn’t have a total plan and had no idea what it would become forty years hence, I knew it would be something quite extraordinary. I only had to look up at the five peaks of Mount Saint Helena as they turned purple at sunset, walk the tracks to feel the breeze from the Pacific 30 miles (48 km) away, and watch the fish rising in the lake." - Sir Peter on the first time he came to Knights Valley by @petermichaelwinery

Alan Peirson, our first Estate Manager, left a lasting mark on the property - one you’ll still discover as you wander the grounds today. While living on the estate, Alan created a series of sculptures using fallen trees from the land itself.
His signature detail: ceramic nails set into this natural wood, each piece shaped by time, place, and care. A quiet intersection of art, land, and legacy—rooted entirely in this estate. by @petermichaelwinery

We recently celebrated 25 years of Herb Westfall as our Estate Manager. His story with this land began long before that.
A Knights Valley native, Herb grew up next door to Peter Michael Winery. As a boy, he’d sneak onto the property to fish for steelhead.
Now, decades later, he’s caring for the very land. by @petermichaelwinery

Named in honor of Sir Peter Michael - and his signature white Panama hat - Le Chapeau Blanc (“the white hat”) pays tribute to both family history and place.
This rare Cabernet Franc comes from a historic benchland site above the Napa Valley floor and just below Pritchard Hill. Sourced exclusively from Block 8, a two‑acre planting established in 1983, the wine expresses a classic style: silky tannins, dark fruit, and savory nuance.
First produced in 2018, Le Chapeau Blanc is made only in exceptional vintages - its limited production a reflection of both site and season. by @petermichaelwinery

Sir Peter envisioned French‑inspired wines shaped by California’s wild beauty. Today, he and his son Paul carry that vision forward—100% family‑owned, for 100 years.
Since 1982, this 750‑acre ranch has been a home away from home to the Michael family. With just over 100 acres planted to vine, the rest remains a protected wildlife corridor—a place to disconnect, explore, and and enjoy nature. by @petermichaelwinery

"Maggie and I looked at each other, looked at the vineyards covered in poppies, and I said, 'What could be better than a California poppy?' ... and that was it." - Sir Peter, reflecting on the moment that inspired the winery’s signature stylized California poppy logo. by @petermichaelwinery

'Ma Belle-Fille' Chardonnay was named by Sir Peter as a warm tribute to Emily Michael, his "Daughter-in-Law". Planted at the highest elevation on the estate, the marine influence on Ma Belle-Fille vineyard is greater, resulting in cooler daily temperatures in the summer and autumn months. Situated above the summer fog line and exposed to the southeast, the vineyard receives the very first rays of sunshine each morning and remains sunny all day long. by @petermichaelwinery
