Ever had your portrait painted with a glass of Álvaro Palacios in hand?

On 15 and 16 November, @bauraulacvins invites wine lovers to Baur au Lac in Zurich for The Art of Wine Selection. More than 20 producers are travelling in person to pour their wines and share the stories behind them, from Priorat and Rioja to Piedmont, Tuscany, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, the Wachau and California.

Among them are Álvaro Palacios, @artadi_eus @chateau_lescarmeshautbrion , Emmerich Knoll @weingut_knoll_wachau , @karthaeuserhof @petermichaelwinery and @tarlant . Whether you’re a seasoned professional or simply curious, there’s no better way to discover a wine than in conversation with the person who made it.

And while you taste, illustrator Nina Egli @ninaegli_illustrations captures guests in quick watercolour portraits, a souvenir that’s a little more personal than a tasting note.

So excited to add @petermichaelwinery to our portfolio at B Side🍷

Peter Michael Winery is a family-owned, limited-production estate winery rooted in mountain vineyards, classical French-inspired winemaking, and long-term land stewardship. Founded by Sir Peter Michael in 1982, the winery now farms three primary estates across Sonoma and Napa, with each site chosen for its distinct elevation, soils, exposure, and climate.

Sense of place is central to the winery, worrying less about imposing a style on the land than allowing the land to define the wine. They specialize in wine ranging from Chardonnay to Bordeaux reds 🍇

Working on my punch down technique! When the 2026 Pinot Noir comes out, know that .1 of the flavor was because of my work here…

What a weekend!

Roseann, Melissa, Mark and I were proud to host the Tumtum Tree Foundation in Nashville for the inaugural Colgin wine dinner. Chef knocked it out of the park. I had a lot of fun working with him on the menu pairing it with the wines.

A Fantastic evening of wine, food and friends. Thanks to everyone for helping us support such a worthy cause.

Guests went home with a bespoke copy of Alice in Wonderland and Colgin’s olive oil.

Here are a few photos of the evening. More to come.
