A year ago I moved to California while simultaneously building my own online counseling practice. Immigrating to a different country + becoming self-employed at the same time is challenging to say the least. And even though there are still a million more things I want to do in this life, I feel so grateful for where I am now compared to ten, five and even one year ago and so glad for sticking through it all even when it was hard or felt like it wasn’t going to work out (I had A LOT of moments of doubt by the way).

Life happens so fast that we tend to forget to pause and reflect on how far we have already come. There is always another thing to do or to achieve, but for your own sake remember to be grateful for what has already happened and present with the life that is unfolding in front of you.

And be more proud of yourself 🌞

My philosophy about consumerism is that whenever we feel the need to purchase a new thing there is actually an underlying emotional need that wants to be met. The way modern society is built it makes a lot of sense that we feel so drawn to overconsumption. For example, wanting a new clothing piece might just be the desire to experience something new/different because life has been feeling repetitive. An interior item might just be the need to feel cozy and at home in your space. So before buying something you can create awareness by asking yourself “Do I actually need this or am I trying to buy a feeling? And if so, how else could I give myself this feeling in life?” 🐛💖

I do love romanticizing life by adding things I truly love. It’s just all about awareness.

a reminder to my friends in germany 🌼🐝🌿🦋🌞

by the way it’s okay and completely normal if you’ve been struggling a bit more lately. winter has a habit of bringing up difficult & heavy things. but let this be your reminder that good things will always come back, just like we will always have spring again 🍃✨ by @petiteearthling

I had labeled 2025 as a not-so-great year. It was filled with lots of uncertainties and ongoing stressors. but when I looked through my camera roll during my end-of-the-year journaling practice I realized what an important year it was for me and how many sweet sweet moments happened in the in-betweens.

2025 taught me how to sit with uncertainty while still allowing myself to feel gratitude and stay present with the world and the people around me. It taught me that even in the presence of loss, grief and anxiety I am allowed to enjoy the blessings life offers. there is always something to be grateful for, no matter how difficult a chapter might be.

let this be your reminder that every 2025 recap you’ve seen on instagram in the past few weeks only ever shows somebody’s highlights (this applies to social media as a whole). so instead of comparing an entire year to someone else’s handful of curated moments, let’s focus on the small (or big) blessings already present in our lives 🫂 by @petiteearthling

Something I haven’t shared on here yet.. 💖

Two years ago I married the love of my life. It was bittersweet; we were so happy to get married but already 10 days later I had to leave the country as my tourist visa ran out. What followed were another two years of doing long-distance. For us long-distance always meant being apart for about 4-5 months until we were able to visit each other again. -> See slide 6 to read a little bit about how we were still able to maintain a healthy & loving relationship despite the distance 💜

A few weeks ago I finally got my marriage-based visa! This means we can finally be together without an expiration date (it feels like we’re actually a married couple now!) 🥹

I’m so proud of us and everything we’ve overcome as an international couple. This past year has been the hardest of them all as I was navigating a season of pain and personal hardships, but looking back I’m so proud for how we got through it together even though we were physically apart. I love who we are as a couple and who we’ve grown to become individually within this relationship. More than anything, I feel so blessed to have found the person who stands by me through life’s most challenging moments, who laughs and dances with me through the happy ones, and who has always felt like coming home. Always better together 🩷 by @petiteearthling

“Thank you! I worked really hard on overcoming the belief that sensitivity is a weakness. Being so in touch with my emotions is something I am proud of.”
