Ciao, I’m Rossella. Usually the loud one in the room and often wearing a hat. I moved from Italy to Scotland 12 years ago. It was meant to be 6 months to learn English, and I never really left. When I arrived, I didn’t know anyone. I lived in a hostel for a while and figured things out as I went. I was an immigrant then, and I still am so please don’t call me an expat. I have a degree in Intercultural Communication and studied languages, with a strong interest in anthropology, sociology, ethnography and linguistics - that’s where my curiosity for different cultures and community really started. But most of what I know comes from working in hospitality. I started on the floor (barely speaking English) learning quickly how much details shape how something feels. Over time, I moved into brand marketing, PR and creative roles, working across hospitality and lifestyle between the UK and Italy - building identities, shaping activations and bringing ideas to life. In 2019 I co-founded Bleach Please, a salon and Prosecco bar in Edinburgh, where I led creative direction. It went on to win Best New Business at the Italian Awards and led to collaborations with Holyrood Palace during the largest-ever exhibition of Leonardo Da Vinci in Scotland. This was my first entrepreneurial experience. We closed due to COVID, sadly but it was a great opportunity for my career. I later worked for hospitality and lifestyle brands, including The Hoxton in Florence and Edinburgh, focusing on brand marketing and PR, pre-openings and launch strategies, partnerships and cultural programming. Alongside this, I write about food and drink, culture and heritage for international publications, and founded The Pasta Magazine (a hobby project born from my love for pasta - now paused but who knows, maybe I’ll re-launch it one day?). Every now and then, I cut up vintage magazines and turn them into collage. My experience is what shapes Petta Studios. If you have something in mind - let’s chat. A little dinner we put together for @pocca_uk bringing Edinburgh’s food and creative community together for a proper introduction to the brand. From guestlist strategy and PR outreach to event production, the idea was simple: get the right people in the room, create a good experience and let the conversations happen naturally.
