We join the film community in mourning the passing of Charles Jones—a creative leader, mentor, friend, and dedicated champion of filmmakers.

Charles became part of the PGFF family during our earliest years. Throughout the first three years of the Prince George’s Film Festival, he traveled to Prince George’s County at his own expense to attend events, participate in panels, share his industry knowledge, and support our filmmakers.

Even while facing health challenges, Charles continued to show up.

That meant something to us.

Film festivals are about more than what happens on screen. They are strengthened by people who believe in storytellers, generously share what they know, and help build community around the work. Charles was one of those people.

The PGAHC, Prince George’s Film Office, and Prince George’s Film Festival teams extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues at Megamind Media, and everyone whose life he touched.

Thank you, Charles, for showing up for our filmmakers and becoming part of the PGFF family. Your friendship and support will not be forgotten. by @pgahc

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us at MUNDIAL: Cultures Without Borders!

PGAHC is proud to partner with Joe’s Movement Emporium for an afternoon celebrating the cultures, creativity, and traditions that connect our communities. Enjoy live performances, arts activities, community resources, and more—all in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

The celebration will also feature Prince George’s County Poet Laureate Tatiana Figueroa Ramírez, along with music from Mariachi Diamante Imperial and a lineup of cultural performances and activities throughout the afternoon.

We use labels to describe the different parts of who we are. But where does one identity end and another begin?

Join Tatiana Figueroa Ramírez, Poet Laureate of Prince George’s County, for Hyphenated No Hyphen, the next workshop in the There’s Poetry in PG series.

Through poetry, creative exercises, and group discussion, participants will explore the identities, backgrounds, interests, skills, and communities that coexist within each of us—and how writing can celebrate both their differences and the ways they seamlessly come together.

Because it’s okay to be more than one thing, belong to more than one group, and find community in more than one place.

Calling all young artists!

This summer, kids can dive into the colorful world of mosaic art at Undersea Mosaic Adventures with artist Kimberly Saunders.

Participants will create their own dolphin, sea turtle, fish, or starfish while learning real mosaic techniques—including arranging colorful tiles, gluing, grouting, and finishing a beautiful piece they can proudly display at home.

It’s the perfect screen-free activity for creative kids who love making things with their hands.

Fresh from its acclaimed premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival—where it received the Best Short Film Award—The Heir explores family legacy, grief, communication, and the difficult conversations surrounding inheritance, homeownership, and preserving generational wealth.
