It's official: our 5 raffle winners have been selected and each individual has been notified! Congratulations to each for taking home some incredible prize bags.

Over 400 people entered this year's raffle drawing, and we are thankful to each and every person who earned stamps along the way.

This account will grow quiet for a few months as we take time to rest, recharge, and prepare for the 2027 Crawl. You can always contact us through our website, but it will not be actively monitored during this slower season.

Announcing: the 2026 Great Pittsburgh Book Crawl dates!

Join us July 18-26, 2026 for 9 days of books, coffee, and amazing bookstore discoveries as we welcome almost 30 (!!) stores to this year's Crawl!

The participating stores for this year's book crawl will be announced at a later date, so stay tuned for more details.

Why July? Our biggest feedback from last year's Book Crawl was that it was sandwiched too close to other book events in the region. Yinz wanted to spread things out a bit more, which is what we worked to achieve.

As a reminder, our book crawl winners will be chosen tomorrow! We have 5 tote bags all ready for you stuffed with books, gift cards, and other amazing goodies!

We will contact the winners first and then once all the winners have been contacted we will announce them on social media.

Happy Monday, and some good news to start your week: We're ready to draw this year's raffle winners! Our raffle drawing will be this Saturday, and we'll contact the winners directly. Once each raffle winner is contacted we will post the winners on social media and online.

This year's raffle prizes are sweet, and we'll share some pictures with you before they go off to their new homes. Books, totes, gift cards, so many things for each winner to take home! We can't wait to get these to some great readers.

TL:DR I’m obsessed with you, my heart is full, and Amazon.theinternet.chainstore.com can’t do what 30 local bookshops just did.

I went on a moto journey to visit other bookshops I hadn’t been to yet for the @greatpghbookcrawl and I made so many new besties and I fell in love w/Pgh all over again AND for the 1st time w/ SO MANY charming Main Streets and little towns I’d never explored.

The CRAWL was such a beautiful and quintessential example of what it means to own a small business. Not only did I get to be a customer again and feel the awe & camaraderie of community spaces, see the love and support of all the crawlers who SHOWED UP, but I got to meet & chat with other shop owners & staff who, despite me feeling nervous at first, met me with the absolute warmest of welcomes everywhere I went. Despite the fact that I’m a cat person, my personality is 100% puppy: I want to be everybody’s best friend, I love adventures, and I LOVE being given treats. This crawl checked all my boxes.

I met Buff from @mysteryloversbookshop and learned that Finland has an excellent alt ice cream scene and gorgeous moto riding, and I will most likely now go there and meet her adopted Finnish fam.

I met Michelle @moden_mercantile and was provided a charger for my dying phone, a Pgh flash tattoo, the coziest vibes, the sweetest shop neighbor, and some super cool history of the Underground Railroad in the area. (also maybe a new riding buddy if we ever have a day off together)

I met Lisa @penguinbookshop and we talked og Wizard of Oz books and upon hearing she hadn’t seen Return to Oz I demanded she promptly go home and do so immediately. Oh the horrors of the Wheelers and oh the haunts of many heads! And it turns out Penguin’s own Frankie, who was doing her own crawling at Stay Gold when I was there, rides motos too! *squeel*

📖 Planning Crew: Bookstores spent over 9 months meeting monthly to plan everything out. On top of that, other stores stepped up to design passports, help with volunteers, and celebrate our ambassador crew. As the final doors close on the 2026 Great Pittsburgh Book Crawl, we want to thank you for all your support during this event. We were honored to have met so many of you over the past few days, and to introduce our bookshops to hundreds of new visitors.

Our stores are here year round, and we encourage you to stop by some of your favorite spots throughout the year. You could even continue your crawl journey by hitting up the rest of the stores you missed during this event.

Pittsburgh is a literary town, and we love the community here that supports us. Independent Bookstores like the 30 who participated in this year's crawl are some of the pieces that makes this city so amazing for book lovers. There are other bookstores besides the ones found in the pages of your passports, non-profits, and libraries who also work to promote literacy throughout SWPA. Your support goes a long way in making sure big box companies don't get to dictate how many books are available to a community.

We have been honored to throw open our doors to so many readers in and around the Pittsburgh area over the past 8 days. We've met so many amazing readers throughout this year's Crawl.
