POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Greeting from @figurteatret above the arctic circle where Erik, a clown, a wild boar and a team of generous and talented collaborators have been mocking up some long dreamt ideas… earlier this week, I arrived with the girls and have stirred things up with the help of @plexuspolaire Opening up small pieces of a very intricate puzzle. Grateful to come all the way here to give Erik this time and to take a long view… quite literally. Last slide- champion art children making their own worlds each day as we work. A dream we make up as we go along. 🤍 taken in Figurteatret i Nordland by @phantomlimbcompany

Port(al) Was it all a dream? For over two years our team met together over breakfast, in rehearsal rooms, sat in offices interviewing the kids of the astonishing @bychorus- we dove into archival audio and collaborated and collaged and revised and moved around together... After 3 official performances, this chapter of Port(al) comes to a close. The next dream is to make this piece move around the world in the way ideas move through ports- taking what we have made and picking up new pieces as we flow through. Uniting with local youth choruses everywhere, aggregating stories, collecting more oral histories and building a new kind of history processing together. What a great privilege to work with these genius collaborators as co-creators, everyone at the very top of their game. @dianneberkun @jadabumrad @paolaprestini Biggest thanks of all to you Paola for your trust in asking me along. There were a lot of firsts for me on this production: writing libretto, working with kids and choral work, doing site specific work in a 25,000 square foot warehouse... it was invigorating every step of the way and from the feedback that we are getting from audiences- it translated to them as participants. I think we are all changed by the work, the makers, the chorus and the participants- May we continue to keep this portal open so that the exchange of ideas, identities, and dreams will continue to flow on.

Also 24 years of MARRIAGE today which means 24 years of loving, growing, making, moving and listening deeply which sometimes means just silence. The past few years have been basically you and me witnessing the mighty girls we’re raising without often getting a word in edgewise and passing each other for weeks without a solid check in… but we always come back round to each other and for this I am very very grateful. As I said moments before Lark arrived into this world, “you are my rock” 🤍 taken in New York, New York by @phantomlimbcompany

SOUND ON Phantom Limb as a container for Erik and I splits and merges in many different ways… the latest is an incredible collaboration with @paolaprestini @jadabumrad and the mighty @bychorus I am director, co- creator and co-librettist. Erik is piping up with a secret song within the work and figuring out how to “play the building” in this 35,000 square foot former ship building warehouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard that is stewarded by the magical @agger_marc We’re working with some of our all time favorite collaborators and some new peeps too/ feeling blessed to tune into a huge group of young people during this moment in time. 🤍 dressed by the one and only @garygraham422 moves with @gemgemdi #brooklynyouthchorus #aggerfishbuilding #brooklynnavyyard #raiseyourvoice 🤍 Port(al) OPENS MAY 1st 2025 taken in Brooklyn Navy Yard, Brooklyn, New York by @phantomlimbcompany
