WITCHCRAFT IS INHERENTLY POLITICAL ⚔️

“Love and light” only means you don’t care about what happens to people outside of your experience. “Good vibes only” just means you aren’t willing to confront the horrible things done in the name of peace, the destruction of the people your bastardised practices come from, the lands and traditions older than the country claiming to do these actions for your “safety.” Get your head out of the stars and start taking action in the real, current, present, material world.

If you are in the U.S., it is DEEPLY important that you vote in the upcoming midterm elections on November 3rd.

Let me be clear: this system blows. All politicians suck by nature of being politicians within it. AND, where we are right now requires numerous tactics to create change. Showing up to vote in progressive candidates—especially if you are white, especially when the current administration is openly trying to silence voters because THEY KNOW THEY WILL LOSE if they don't interfere—is the bare minimum.

Vote, but don't stop there. Show up to town halls and city council meetings, join or start a community garden, volunteer, get to know your neighbours and help each other out, UNIONISE YOUR WORKPLACE, wear a mask in public, stop using generativeAI, READ. And more.

There is always more to do.

Those "signs you're a natural born witch" posts are...bullsh*t.

Whether it's astrological placements, markings on your palm, vivid dreams, or ease with animals—none of it means you're a witch unless you actually practice witchcraft.

I teach magic that matches your values ⬇️

The online spiritual/witchy space can be...a bit scary—because the spirituality to alt-right pipeline is real, and it's a lot easier to fall down than many realise.

That's why, when I teach witchcraft, I make a point to discuss the historical contexts of everything relating to modern witchcraft (even when it's uncomfy), and connect that history to how a witch can and should show up in the world today.

"Witch" isn't just a cute little title you can take on and off as you choose. It is a practice and a political stance. It is a relationship to the whole world around you, and everyone and everything in it.
