Did you know One of the biggest lessons in BJJ is learning to stay calm when you’re uncomfortable. Someone may have you pinned or have you in a submission position, and instead of panicking, you learn to breathe, recognize what’s happening, and work your way out.

Over the summer I had the opportunity to paint this mural with some help 🥹 from my new little apprentice we need to practice on painting inside the lines but well get there

Thank you for the opportunity @blackownedbrockton thank you for trusting me @galsenprez @orionbjj

A powerful reminder that I am art.

Thank you @theartistmiles for having me be part of this conversation. I found myself in the room, but more importantly, I found a community that values the same things I do a community that made me feel seen, understood, and validated.

This body of work resonates with me not only as an artist, but as a person, as a Haitian woman living in America, navigating identity, culture, belonging, and all the spaces in between.

@sarahelizabethlewis1 introduced this conversation in a way that couldn’t have been more perfect. She reminded us that we are more than the labels, expectations, and spaces placed around us. We are constantly evolving, creating, questioning, and becoming.

And I am grateful to be part of a conversation that reminds me: I am art, I am community, and I am still becoming. taken in Harvard University by @phiaart_

This Thursday, join us at Harvard @harvardlocal for a conversation about art & intersectionality; exploring how the different parts of our identities, experiences, cultures, and communities intersect and shape the way we see and create art.

I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity. A special shoutout to Miles @theartistmiles @thisisanoriginalworkofart , and congratulations on your show! Watching you put this together, seeing how excited you’ve been about it, and witnessing your vision come to life has been such an honor.

I’m grateful to witness it and, even more so, to be a part of this conversation.

Another episode of vibes & art ✂️🎨

I started this collage wanting to make a landscape… and somehow ended up here 😂 I’ve learned that the best part is just going with the flow and seeing where it takes me.

So far, this one is definitely my favorite. And yes, I even found a Brandon Blackwood purse to add to it 👀✨

What do you see in it?
