I voted yesterday on the shoulders of the people whose blood runs through our veins. Our Bigdaddy, T. L. Mency, was 40 years old before he was allowed to vote. My Great Grandmother, Nettie (whom after Aubree’s grandmother is named) was Black Cherokee Native American (born on Georgia soil), and was 77 years old before she could vote. My paternal grandmother, Eula Mae, was born 50 years after the Emancipation of Black Americans and 50 years before the right to vote was afforded African Americans. My Great Great Grandmother, Mamie died without the right to vote (ironically, she was born on the 4th of July), and my Great Great Great Grandmother Isabella (and Aubree’s Great Great Great Great Grandmother) was born a free woman in this state, and the right for “niggers” to vote was never even considered in her lifetime. So to all those who bled and died for African Americans to vote in this land of the free and home of the brave, I cast my ballot with honor and pride, and the utmost bit of gratitude for your nobility, dignity and sacrifice. And while she is not old enough to vote, I’m PROUD to say Aubree watched me vote for Kamala Harris 2024, and @keishaforga in 2026. I’m also proud to cast my ballot for the honorable @jonossoff for US Senate #philphilandaubree #wakandaforever #mencylovematters #lineage #vote by @philipdavidhill

Only ONE ☝🏾person knows the full extent of what this song REALLY means to me! Superfly Thursday is now Superfly Tuesday, but NOTHING else has changed….and I DO mean nothing🥰😍😘…I ALWAYS listen to this on the way home from work to the quiet enjoyment of my home, my peace, and my Superfly (2018) #pdh #superfly #ourmovies #noshame #ridehomefromwork by @philipdavidhill

W A K A N D A F O R E V E R 🖤💚❤️💚🖤💚❤️ I remember when the movie ATL came out. I figured New New was what every man in life should want, to the point that God sent me a “New New” and I thanked Him for giving me “what every man in life should want”….just as men thought the original Hilary Banks was the prize that “every man in life should want”. Then @belairpeacock boldly aired; and @cocojones emerged as Hilary Banks. The fact that @belairpeacock thought enough to make a VERY large percentage (the majority even) of their cast my complexion and darker, meant EVERYTHING to me. It inspired me to make sure @lyfewythhymn @pdhinstitute and everything else I create shines through lenses of the most beautiful color on the planet, LOVE. It was then that I realized that as a dark-skinned Southerner, in and through whom fine arts chose to display herself, the expression of LOVE is melanated beyond measure, darkened above reproach, and giftedly shaded without explanation. Coco Jones’ emergence as the super star she is, inspired me to color EVERYTHING I do with the three shades of my motto, SOPHISTICATION, DIGNITY and NOBILITY. Undergirding those shades is the invoked two-word anthem that I once again apply to the beautiful Queen and REAL New New, who stands above the tasteless insults of a collection of absolute NOBODIES….. 🙅🏾‍♂️ WAKANDA FOREVER 🙅🏾‍♂️ #cocojones #waksndaforever #blacklivesmatter #blackisbeutiful #IHWP by @philipdavidhill
