TransLucent- La forma della luce

Gallerie dell’Accademia, Venezia
10 September – 22 November 2026

On the occasion of the tenth edition of The Venice Glass Week, the Gallerie dell’Accademia are pleased to announce the new exhibition „Leiko Ikemura.TransLucent - La forma della luce“, on view from 10 September to 22 November 2026. The exhibition, which will be presented to the press on Thursday, 10 September, is curated by Isabella Collavizza and Leiko Ikemura and features a selection of glass sculptures by the contemporary artist, displayed alongside masterpieces by masters such as Paolo Veneziano, Carpaccio, Titian, and Tiepolo.

“Leiko Ikemura’s exhibition brings to the Gallerie dell’Accademia a profound reflection on light, fragility, and transcendence. The transparency and immaterial grace of her sculptural medium intertwine with the iconography of our masters — from Paolo Veneziano to Carpaccio, up to Titian and Tiepolo — offering visitors a poetic and profound experience that establishes a dialogue between the great Venetian painting tradition and the languages of contemporary sculpture,” states the Director of the Gallerie dell’Accademia, Giulio Manieri Elia.
