St Govans chapel.

Another location on a brief photography bender with @lacelightphotos to Wales, St Govans chapel is a lovely spot and perfect for some light painting. This is a single 491 second exposure, I lit the scene with a torch and had a couple of panel lights in the chapel. This isn’t a n ai or photoshop creation.

Paxton’s Tower…….scroll👉

I nipped over to Wales for a few nights under the stars ticking off a few locations on the list with @lacelightphotos . First up was this 1800’s banqueting house for some very wealthy people. After a few shots, I went for a long exposure while lighting the tower for a long time with a torch on low power.
This is a single exposure of just under 13 minutes.

Ynysypandy Slate Mill

Out for a long weekend with fellow night time photography enthusiasts. Fun was had by all at this relic of a bygone mega industry.

This shot had been on the list for sometime, Lit with the drone from above with @fade_to_black_light_art while @lacelightphotos , @krumblecreations & @themanyfacesofnatasha shot in the bowels of the ruin providing the soft orange light. Great times with great people.

European Road Trip: The Floating Chapel

Another shot from my recent European trip. This Public art piece was extremely busy by day. It is a pretty cool little sculpture, viewing platform, artwork. Lit from above with lights on the drone and using some snoots for the lights from my mate Paul @lacelightphotos made me which add angles and focus to the light.

European Roadtrip: Pilgrimage

After waking up at 4 am I drove for the whole day to my next destination, it sits in a remote part of Europe miles from anywhere in the middle of some woods, it was used as a weapons testing facility in WW2 and unexploded ammunition still litters the forest floor.

The idea for this photo started over five years ago and although I shot here last year I wasn’t happy, the concept was: The wall is a symbol, An Artifact, An Idol. The silhouette had been drawn to it. In a type of pilgrimage.

The concrete block is roughly 7 metres wide and tall and about 1 metre thick, It helps that it is in a natural woodland setting,making it more surreal.

This photo is the culmination of over 5 years from initial thought to execution, roughly 5000miles (8000km) of driving and countless hours.

It is not AI or a photoshop creation, the camera settings ISO 200, f5.6, 30 seconds at 47mm, Canon 24-105 EF on a Sony A7IV.

Only one wolf this time. A distant howl on what was to be my last shot after shooting for about 4 hrs in the woods . I did see a wild boar on the way back to the car . by @phill_fisher

European Road trip: Under the Bridge

I hadn’t really thought about it but on reflection this European trip was a homage to concrete and architecture, with a bit of art thrown in. Mainly concrete though.

I spent the morning driving through Europe, I managed to grab a few minutes sleep on the Euro tunnel, Enough to refresh me for a while at least. I had a few locations all within an hour of each other on the list and the second one grabbed me. I spent the afternoon and whole of the evening photographing this concrete structure in a bridge.

When tiredness got the better of me I made the bed in the back of my car and slept, ready for a long drive in the morning.

Last year I embarked on a European road trip to photograph some locations that had been on my list for some time. After returning and reflecting, I realised that I hadn’t quite finished what I had started, there were still a few things to tick off the list, some sights to see, some photos I wanted. One of those photographs was the main reason for the trip. With a rough plan in place, the tunnel booked, I set off for location I had been meaning to visit for some time.
