SEPTEMBER MOON JAM: DRUM CIRCLE EDITION. [NOT AI]

September will feel a bit different. We’re slowing down and embracing a calmer, more intentional night of live music, movement, fire, and community.

We’ll start at 7 PM with Bass Yoga by Spirit Lab, followed by sound healing at 7:45 PM with Kelsey, as Keegan Tawa joins us with melodic live instrumentation by 8 PM. Then, a drum circle staring at 8:30 PM.

Fire circle opens at 8PM.

Bring a drum. Dance. Flow. Spin fire or flow.

We’re inviting everyone into a more communal, ecstatic dance energy where musicians, drummers, dancers, and flow artists all contribute to building the atmosphere.

This is an experiment, so come play along.

Let’s channel some witchy September magic and see what we can create together.

SATURDAY, September 26 • 7–11 PM
Penn Treaty Park • Donations appreciated

Bring blankets, snacks, flow props, and your own drums or instruments.

The weather keeps changing, so let’s have a backup plan. Since this event involves bringing drums, sitting on the ground, and doing yoga, we may want to reschedule if rain, mud, or winds above 10 mph are expected.

Some people will still come, but we typically lose around 70% of our audience in these conditions. With everyone volunteering their time, postponing may be the better choice.

Major change for Friday’s Moon Jam: We’ll be sharing Penn Treaty Park with a movie screening.

We’re not totally sure what the setup will look like yet, so we’ll all need to be flexible and adapt together. Please join us in the area marked by the yellow circle, and bring a little extra patience and kindness as we navigate the adjustment. 💛 by @phillymoonjams

Fun fact: @physicsyogi is the unofficial host of Philly Moon Jams.

I’m usually pretty sleepy, so I typically start packing by 10:30 or 11 PM. Ferdinand and I have a system for transitioning from my gear to his. While it’s only about 10% of what I’m bringing, it’s the perfect way to wrap up the event.

If you’re ever worried about arriving at the Moon Jam too late, know that Ferdinand is usually there for the late-night after-party.

*This* is how I know our community is working! Where my ability to help ends, someone else steps in to fill the gaps.

I feel like this has become a very healthy project, and I’m so happy that everyone is committed to ensuring our sustainability with & without @minimal_chaos_
